The bodies of mother of three Iuliana Triscaru, and father of one Cory Breton. discovered in a toolbox sunk in a dam just out of Logan Queensland. 2016. Amphetamine debt / ripoff believed to be behind murders, several people charged including a mother of seven. Trial set to begin soon.
 
Truly a shocking crime. IMO It appears there has been " dispute" over a drug debt ,( what this in reality often means is someone has been stone cold ripped off or lashed on payment.) On a Facebook page still up under one of the deceased they complain that around the time of the abduction /murder a motorbike , jewellery tools and other equipment were taken from his home at GUNPOINT.
So it can be assumed from the post asking for the return and subsequent reply someone was claiming he owed them an amount of money. Testimony has been heard in pretrial hearings that Breton was a local drug dealer.
It appears that the killers first located a known male associate of Breton , and " persuaded" him to Lure Breton to a house where he was captured and subdued, then interrogated.
Three thousand dollars was withdrawn from his bank account , and he may have been forced to persuade Triscaru, most likely his drug supplier to come to the house where she was also captured , robbed and beaten before they were both forced into the toolbox, driven to the waterway whilst still alive and pleading for their lives , then shot/drowned.
Although the media have not reported , there does seem to be the possibility of some gang affiliation amongst the several accused , including unbelievably a mother of seven and" friend" of Triscaru.

Pretty Gangster. Two lives horribly ended, seven young people going to do serious jail, eleven young children lose a parent,...all for what is probably no more than ripoff of a couple of ounces of amphetamine worth a few thousand dollars.....

Stunned there are so many involved in this murder. How do they find each other, a group of people that big who somehow think was ok?

Logan is one of the roughest areas in Australia bar none. A lot of street gangs formed along racial lines, aborigines, Islanders Maoris etc. A lot of injecting drug users.When buying an ounce of amphetamine from a dealer connected enough to supply it , it is not uncommon for a loosely based group of five or six including family members to pony up a grand or so each as "shareholders" on the six thousand dollar deal.
If you get a ripoff occurring , you have instantly got a group of very pissed off people feeling as though they have been made absolute fools of and lost money that could have been used for rent, food, clothing etc.
It becomes a point of honour for vengeance to be extracted.
Quite a bit of work was put in by the group involved here into eventually catching up with Triscaru....they worked their way up from capturing at street level , to intermediary, to supplier.

I've grown up around Logan - just on the other side as I was more Browns Plains/Jimboomba.

Logan is a shithole, basically. Wouldn't walk the streets alone there to tell you the truth, and even going for a fish at the Waterford boat ramp has you looking over your shoulder because there is quite often fights, stabbings, etc at the Fitzy's tavern up the road and drunk people do head down to the boat ramp quite often.
 
WOW Trial of one of defendants has begun, what a terrible last day on this earth for Breton and Triscaru, beaten, bound sitting around a drug den being abused by meth users ....then into the toolbox still alive and taken to the pond where they begged for their lives as they were lowered into the water.
And what about Triscarus friend ,-a fellow mother of seven who knew what was going down but offered no help and offered to clean up afterwards.
They breed em tough in Logan.....Shocker.

Yes .Either drowned or suffocated- their last moments as the box filled up with water too horrible to imagine.....and the killers saw the box had floated to the surface weeks later and returned to weigh it down and sink it again.
Some big sentences coming up for this one.

Hate to be callous, and no-one deserves what eventually happened to the 'victims', but it comes with the territory.
 
Gee....dunno about that..drowned alive in the same container,like unwanted kittens, both parents of young children..
I see the QLD Wallopers very droll today - describing the reasons for the killings as "missed communications " regarding a drug deal...aka" ripoff"
It looks to me, and am only surmising, (but been pretty accurate so far,) , that this whole tragedy. has unbelievably arisen. because Breton has taken five or six grand from "da boys" and promised supply of about an ounce of amphetamines - then been unable to produce it and refused refund claiming his dealer had the cash.
" In retaliation Da Boys have raided his home at gunpoint taking a motorbike , jewellery and other items.
Breton does not go to the cops , but he vents on Facebook and "da boys" know that there is no chance of getting anything more out of him.
Not satisfied ,They convince one of Bretons associates to lure him to a flat where they surprise him, tie him up and relieve him of 3 grand from his atm card before forcing him to trick Triscaru into calling round with some gear.
She is also bound , beaten and robbed.
Now Da Boys honour has been restored and they have cash and drugs.
However Breton has been stabbed in the leg ,and after having his house run through at gunpoint, and relieved of three grand is probably starting to lose his sense of humour and may go to the cops.
A mid level dealer like Triscaru often is working as a front for heavy organised crime outfits, which may come back hard at them in retaliation for her treatment and robbery.
Meth Logic prevails.,..solution. of course!! Eureka problem solved.. into the toolbox, and into the drink they go,
Forget about it, no payback or trouble with the cops, .......life just goes on as if nothing ever happened...
.Sure,...sure......stroke of pure genius.
Two young lives lost. four children orphaned and a number of young men spending the rest of their lives in jail....all for a few thousand bucks worth of drugs.
Very, very sad.

I'm not sure how old the victims children are but any over school age probably won't or can't be spared the details of their parents deaths given all the press, it's so sad. They'll grow with that horror in their heads.

Was just looking at Cory Breton photos from before this all happened. He looks so fresh faced in all the photos, in contrast to the one we keep seeing online of him with the Broncos jersey on (I'm assuming a mugshot) where his eyes/face just look terrible from drug use.

Are you from Logan way Coastie? We've had some really high end ice inspired incidents in my little semi rural town that were shocking but it seems to have settled down now.

Noooooooooo. Not from Logan :) (meant we in QLD). I think a few people described it rather well earlier in the thread. Rough place.

It was such a transformation in my old job with your typical amphetamine user and subsequent crimes they committed, to when ice came in and seeing not so much an increase in crime but an overall rapid deterioration of their life and and physical demeanour in general. I dunno whether maybe amphetamines intravenous semi regularly vs smoking ice which lead to chronic use was it but that's my theory. Sort of like in the US snorting coke semi regularly vs smoking crack cocaine chronically
