Essendon and Western Bulldogs shown interest in cole. Possible trades:
- Collingwood give dogs Cole in exchange for gilbee

- Colingwood give bombers cole in exchange for winderlich and 3rd round pick.

More complicated trade:
- Collingwood give Cartlon Cole and 2nd round pick, Carlton give Gellong Fevola, Geelong give collingwood Bartel.

As for woey, maybe:
- Collingwood give freo Woey, in exchange for 3rd round pick.
I highly doubt this will happen however. if no one else wants woey, and freo can get him for free in the PSD, they'll take their chances in that scenario.

These seem the most logical situations regarding a trade. i cant see any other players on our list that can be swapped in a direct trade for another valuable player. Your thoughts?

1st - Change Gilbee to Birss, Gilbee for Cole is criminal.
2nd - Could work
3rd - No Worries, like it
4th - umms and ahhs

The woey trade seems fair as does the essendon one , as for the gilbee for cole, doubt it. And as for the Bartel trade i still don't think he'll leave, but it is good too see a collingwood supporter at least putting some decent trades up

honestly, other than the last one, none of those are close to the mark. You're making out Cole is worth about a first round pick (even more than that in the case of the Gilbee trade), when he's not, no one would give you a first round pick for cole.
To me Winderlich is about the same as Cole, maybe even more, so I'd be going for a straight swap.
As far as the fevola one, they'd be looking at two first rounders or equivalent (in my opinion), the guy kicked 50 goals and was out of form for god's sake, you can't expect a Cole and a second round pick to cut it.

I'm not trying to put you guys down, I'm just trying to give it to you from a neutral supporters perspective as to what I would see as reasonable compensation for both sides.

By 2nd round pick do you mean... no.5 or no. 21. Either way your joking.
If Fev is involved we want picks 2 and 5.

We dont need another dud ie Cole especially a fat one.

Collingwood has nothing to offer Carlton, your recruiting has been worse than ours and your good players ie Bucks and Rocca have dodgy legs.

By the way you can have Softland back.

We may be going nowhere but in 50 years time if we have only won one premiership then we can be compared to Collingwood's recent record of success.

Remember there are only two titles every year and we won one of them and Wazza Capper Cup is worth more. ;)

so when you win 10 wooden spoons in a row dumbass how will you be celebrating that great achievement in the history of your self-emploding club?

Fizzer Cup to Wooden spoon in 6 months, must be some kind of AFL record.

Actually they've only won the two too. The limped into 15th in 2003 thanks to the Bulldogs, who couldn't win more than 3 games! They should have won 3 out of the last 4 spoons. Then we'd really be talking Fitzroy and St Kilda kind of material.

That is perhaps the most absurd suggestion i've ever seen. 2 top 5 picks for that goose?

pick 5 on its own is overpriced. he did say cole + a 2nd rounder. pick 5 is untouchable unless its for a ready made, established star.

Fevola is not ready made, he's got more baggage than a single mother of 6 kids.

dont know why we would want soli, considering cole has mroe potential. in the event that the trade did happen it should be solomna 2nd round =cole and 3 round

everything else is spot on!

Logical Trades...

Pleasing to see that Tarrant and Leon haven't been mentioned... As for Cole, he is waiting to explode (and I am not talking about his weight).
Give him 1 more year.

What we must remember is that we have had 2 very bad years and for youngsters it is difficult to maintain great form, especially when our leaders have been absent for most of the year.

2006 will be a better year... Let's not talk about trading players which have potential...

Birss rates better than lonie, so thats a no go - younger and better

and woe & lockyer would struggle for polak - yng high potential KPP for 1 has been midi and another slightly above midfielder - so doubt it

If you are going to have a crack, get your facts straight.

Its amazing you could even count to 3 considering thats a higher number than the amount of teeth you have.

Carlton has only won 2 spoons 2002 & 2005.

Unlike Collingwood we have won more than one premiership in last 50 years plus a Wizard Cup. :)

I was willing to take this thread seriously until I read this.....

That's about as absurd as suggesting Tarrant for Power.

The bottom line is to all those pie supporters, we dont want, I REPEAT WE DONT WANT anymore of no hopers at our club. To contemplate Richard Cole and a 2nd round pick is crazy. You really dont have anything we want to be honest except your draft picks. Oh and maybe Christie Malthouse.
