Good post Wiz, not entirely accurate, but good. Target logos 2 & 3 are from the US only and were never used here (it's an entirely different company), same with logos 1 & 2 for Safeway - US only I'm sure. Woolworths have a newer logo which makes the red text a dark green. Also Network Ten have had a new logo for over a year which is just blue and white. Good post though
The first and second Safeway logos were Australian used logos, I have the book My Safeway Story by Bill Pratt. The United States Safeway company brought 75% of the Pratt's Supermarket business in 1963, which consisted of three stores in bayside Melbourne. The first logo was used from 1963 to 1980. The second logo was used from 1980 to 1987, which I can remember seeing being used on Safeway stores.
Presently I can't say if there are any Safeway stores still in operation. The very first Safeway store to open, at Forest Hill, was one of the most recent to change over to Woolworths.
The ABC recently changed back over to the old logo again. The channel which is number 2 on the television is now called ABC not ABC1 and is labelled with the old logo.
The first four McDonald's logos were only used in North America. The first to be used here was the yellow M with black writing. The yellow M has been used by itself recently because of the bad name the McDonald's has.
There was a big thing about Channel 9 having a new logo in 2007, when Eddie took over. The new logo was the 9 without the dots which had been used before.
