The new logo is a result of a merge with DirecTV.

wowww directv y u do dis. Logo was much better now it looks dumb. What does that mean for U-Verse now?

Craegus Designs has looked outside the company for inspiration and creation of their new logo. Through collaboration with TheFreightTrain who designed the new logo (wordmark by craegus), Craegus Designs is pleased to unveil their new logo.

The new design is evolution of the brands previous designs, which stands out more than previous logos. It provides a simple and identifiable brand image that fits well with other major sporting design/apparel companies. The design is simple and can be used across a number of mediums and us far more scalible than previous designs. In continuation with the simplification of the logo have been reduced down from three colours to two with the elimination of the light blue. The new colours are more bold and vibrant than the old set with a slightly darker dark blue and a brighter bolder lime green.

Love the change overall, but try skewing the raegus and esigns to match the diagonal of the top of the C, I'd that makes sense.

Also make the diagonals on the D and C the same, they look a bit off.

So do I, I wasn't 100% behind the logo when TFT first showed it to me (though it was far better than the first potential design), but after a few hours and playing with how I could incorporate it into my backgrounds and even put it on designs, I completely fell for it.

Skewing them doesn't look good especially on the "esigns" section with the D being straight. Plus none of the logo itself is skewed (it is cut out like the E, G, and S ends in the wordmark) so skewing part and not the rest makes no sense. I know the wordmark isn't the best (a bit of a lazy effort on my part), but it will not be seen very often as the logo will be the primary mark seen by people.

The diagonals are at exactly the same angle, it may look off because the top of the C and the bottom of the D line up with the top of the D and bottom of the C respectively so they overlap. But as the two letters combine to form an S the overlap works.

No I'm not getting paid at the moment, but I can tell you that TFT was paid for his design work on the logo with an amount that featured a lot of zeros in it.

If it were paid work I would have put a hell of a lot more time and effort into it.

Otherwise, he can do what he wants with the logo- doubt he's really going to be infringing on my client base and potential client base, so all the power to him.

Plus the bribe of automatic finals participation in this years Can-Am for both of your teams didn't hurt either.

It seems like someone with your level of design experience could make your own logo and not have to compromise a major FJGD competition with rewards for things completely unrelated to the competition.

I mean, FruitTrain is going to make the finals regardless, but that's not the point.

That was my initial concept, but he wanted it looking like an S to represent his old logos.

Precisely, it was a joke. I already said that I paid him an amount with several zeros in it, there may have been no other numbers apart from those zeros, but it was an amount that featured zeros.

That is the point. My logo has always been my initials so has been a C, (and up until this logo) 2 D's that form an S.

Yup, I didn't like it. I actually thought it looked like an empty battery symbol.

When it comes to my logos, I have (to a point) created them myself, up until this one (this is the 7th version of the logo).

Logos 2, 3, and 4 feature edited existing images, logo 6 is based on another design I found but was heavily edited. Logos 1 and 5 are 100% original. All are based on a sketch I made back in high school (during a period with a sub who had nothing to teach us, so was basically a boring supervised free period) while trying to create a baseball style interlocking letter design featuring my initials.

I knew I wanted something new and fresh, but after several failed attempts I was coming up with nothing that I liked (logos included circle, hexagon, and arrow designs) and were all way to complex. That was when I went to TFT to see if he could come up with something that perhaps I had not thought of.

Though his design is consistent with my previous logos, it was nowhere near where I was thinking and was perfect when compared to the brief I gave him.
