It's the end of an era.

For all of us, we've grown up with or knowing someone who had a Nokia phone.

If I randomly saw that new logo without any added context I wouldn't have a clue what brand it was supposed to be.

This is the logo of Nokia Corporation. Who manufacture 5g equipment. Nokia phones is made by another finnish company HMD Global who ises the hame under license for their smartphones. So the logo on the phones will not change as they made this change to avoid confusion with nokia phones.

Well this confused me and doesn't make sense to me.

Why wouldn't you have 2 separate companies called Nokia in the first place?

Nokia exited the phone market in the 2010s after a disastrous period under Microsoft ownership. A group of former execs didn't like this and started their own phone business which uses the nokia name under license since it is still an important brand in finland. Mainly due to national pride from what i know.

Kinda like how there’s two Motorolas. One makes consumer tech and the other makes drone surveillance, command centre software and first responder radios.

TIL there were 2 different Motorola companies.

Oh man that Castol rebrand just loses any structure it previously had - big yuckers.

Massive stinker.

Adds to the patchwork of stinkers over the time.
