the OP's top middle design is one of the nicest in the league imo. very nice. could you possibly do a white with blue sash mockup for a clash design?

It was definitely intended to be simple. The GC/sun rays part is made up of 9 fairly basic shapes.

Not sure how I feel about it. I don't hate it but I prefer the other concepts.
No I think you have done a fantastic job. I think we need a design for our Guernsey that doesn't incorporate our logo.

I don't think we need to have a jumper with a logo in the middle of it. I would like to see western Bulldogs type traditional jumper where we have a bright red back ground with a yellow and blue hoop

The first one in your OP which resembles their current one is great.

I think the best one, though, is the one on the far right in your second post which has the the full logo as well, just need to colour the white bit in yellow as it is silly to have the sun white, and it just looks better yellow as well (did it in Paint myself). I think it would look great with the red shorts - going from red, to yellow, to red.

Your logo is infinitely better than their amateurish one as well, which has a real cheap 'n' nasty look to it.

If I were them I would run with your stuff instead of theirs for sure!

I agree. I've made a lot of new variations since that post and I regret posting the white version now.
I'm not sure about using the full logo though. Part of me likes it, part of me thinks it's a bit much.

Sounds too much like an Adelaide jumper. The club made it a bit hard to design a jumper by choosing such similar colours to Fitzroy and Adelaide.

Tried some more red/gold, full logo concepts with some new designs.

They are all really nice (apart from #2). #1, #3 and #5 are the picks for mine, with #5 being the big standout - especially when you consider how it would look with red shorts. It's just an impeccable guernsey!!

As far as just using the sun and not the full logo, I think the problem is that it looks a bit like a tribal tattoo on it's own and looks a bit cheap and training guernsey-esque. The full logo that you have made has a very refined look, something that GC's current logo lacks, and something that the sun on it's own I feel would lack.

Very impressive work though, man.

What about a copy of the traditional Port Adelaide Magpies gurnsey

Mainly red with the yellow strips, no logo
I reckon something like that would look really good.
Personally I'm not a fan of having a logo on the jumper, well not front and center. As an emblem like Geelong has i think looks ok.

I was wondering what GC fans on this board thought of about the idea of changing the club's logo and guernsey.
The Suns branding has never been popular on the graphic design board but I'm interested to hear the opinions of people who actually support the team.

Ideas have been thrown around this thread lately which lead me to work on this new logo concept.

With this logo I'm trying to create a strong, memorable symbol that could be synonymous with the club's image. Similar to what Carlton have with their monogram.
The logo is in the shape of a sun that combines to create a G on the outside, while the C sits inside the centre. The left version features waves of red and yellow in the style of a life guard flag to represent the club's seaside identity. The right version is simplified to match the colour scheme of the home guernsey.

Along with this concept I've created a few redesigns for the club guernseys.

The top left and right designs are the same as the old jumpers, just with the new logo.
The top centre design is my own design which is a modern take on the yoke/sash, with sun rays shining from the club logo on the chest.
The bottom 2 show how the blue version of the logo could be adapted as a guernsey design. These might be better suited as clash/alternative guernseys.

Let me know what you think.
Great design's

What does this mean for us? I assume we haven't received our 2017 player guernseys yet, so we're gonna need to get on that ASAP.

Here's Andrew Hamilton article

A LEADING Australian apparel company that supplies kit to the Gold Coast Titans, the Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns and a host of other sporting clubs has gone into administration.

The Gold Coast company’s financial plight will have widespread ramifications across the entire Australian sporting landscape.

An extract from the ASIC database reveals World Rugby Specialists, the parent company of BLK Sports who supply training and playing gear to the Lions, Suns, Titans and Queensland Reds, has been placed under external administration.

According to BLK’s website, they sponsor the Adelaide Crows, GWS Giants and Richmond Tigers.

It is understood they have recently reached an agreement with St Kilda also.

A Suns spokesman said they did not know yet if there would be apparel supplied for next season.

The AFL will be involved in negotiations on behalf of the clubs.

In Australian rugby BLK is associated with the Melbourne Rebels and Western Force.

The site also lists its relationships with netball’s ANZ Championships and the Australian Diamonds and international sporting teams such as the England rugby league team.
