Nrl destroyed it even more by not allowing the only thing that attracted people to watch it which is all in brawls.
Correct, well, Sterlo, Kenny, Wally etc. Wally having a gasper on hte field at QTR time in a night game. Loads of LULZ

Run, get tackled, run again, get tackled, run again (try a sidestep), get tackled. Run AGAIN, get tackled and then play with someone elses "tackle" and/or angus.

I just summarised a typical game of NRL for you all.
The irony is the John Hopoate story was the most memorable thing in NRL history nation wide ever.

And I take it you tossers like cricket?

Never understood the hate for rugby league and love for cricket on this site. At least in rugby league you actually, you know, move around.
Rugby League is a modified abortion of Rugby. How the modified game could destroy Rugby and its enjoyment so badly is beyond me. At least no one has ever been done for multiple rapings on the field while playing in AFL.

It was good in hte 60's and 70's, money destroyed it, as it does everything
Sorry Gongswan, it was never good nor will be ever good.

NRL shouldn't even be classed as a sport. It has no skill and requires no thought. All it requires is body mass and running a straight line into another person.

Yawn...

That's your defence of rugby league? They move around?

Face it, it's god awful. I followed it as a kid, although that was back in the 80s when it actually had something going for it. Once the personalities left the game, they were left with the game itself. And the grounds emptied out.

At least they have two Sydney teams in the GF. Whenever the Storm make the GF it has the electric atmosphere to rival that of a funeral.

I'm not defending rugby, can't stand it but that's getting pretty close to some games of footy I watched this year.

Scary.

You've also summarised a typical AFL game as well.

Am I missing something? The rules are about the same and the techniques haven't improved. It's still the same shitty game. Watching grass grow is more exciting imo.
The rules have changed about a smuch as AFL has. So has the game

Yeah, but the principles of NRL remain, that is to run with a ball into people and/or try and dodge them all with the goal to get a try. **** me a TRY of all things. What the **** is a try??? OMG
This is the same argument as league people saying all you have to do is kick the ball through the sticks, and you get a point for missing. What kind of game gives you a point for missing? I hear this every other day, it's annoying, but kinda right
