Anyone who thinks Hogan is the difference is kidding themselves.

More than half our side is horribly out of form. Players that had big years last year like Wiedeman, Harmes, T Mac, Hibberd, Petracca, Jones, Fritch and Lewis are all well down on their output last year. The rest are about breakeven, Oliver has regressed and so has Viney and Brayshaw but they are still trying hard.

Actually would rather play the Wagner boys than Lewis and Garlett, both should have retired last season. Harmes needs a spell in the 2's don't think i've seen him hit a target this year. Frost just fumbles and fumbles and then goes to ground and then fumbles again, awkward to watch tonight.

He's not the difference. BUT, he would make a difference. We'd clearly be a better side with him right now because we have no one who can do anything in the F50. He wanted to leave. We swapped him for a fat defender who has a lot of making up to do. People pining for Hogan need to just let it go. I wish he was still playing for us, but he's not. We can't judge the trade until May and KK have played out their contracts. But it's off to the worst possible start. We gave away 3 first round picks for 2 tall defenders who can't get on the park. We will live or die by that decision because other clubs seem to be able to develop their tall defenders with later picks. We've sold the farm for these guys. I hope its worth it, but we're not going to know for a couple more years if it was worth it or not..

I see what you mean, but how does that attitude help me give other Dees board posters stick? How am I going to cry about Hogan every week if we're supposed to take a longer term view of the trade?

Good post. The people pretending that he "wouldn't make a ******* difference" are kidding themselves, but I suppose that comes from the same place as pining for a guy who will never don red and blue ever again.

Finding something to cry about has never been an issue for you to be fair. Or for any of us. We're all pretty shattered and nobody really knows wtf we can do to turn this around.

Good post, hadn't thought of it like that.

The problem I have with Hogan is Freo are playing well atm and he'is benefiting from some good entries plus Freos forward line is looking damn potent atm. Stick him in our forward line and all of a sudden he's double teamed, the delivery sucks and he sulks and ends up playing further up the ground anyway.

If Hogan played tonight we would have lost by 37 instead of 43.
There you go! Already gaining us percentage! No way he wins us games with the form our whole team is in, but anyone saying we wouldn't be a better team without him right now is lying. Even if Hogan does sweet f*ck all in every game, that would be more than what Weideman or TMac have produced. It was always a huge gamble placing our premiership race on a F50 that is reliant on a backman and a young forward who has played 1 very good game. At least Hogan is a true forward who can move up the wings and be that link player we desperately need right now. I think that is what we are missing most from him is his ability to get up the wings and be that link from defence to forward. Whether he'd be doing it well enough or we'd be utilising that well enough I guess we will never know. But our hopes the Weid/TMac combo would make up for the loss of Hogan has failed miserably no matter how good or bad Hogan is going right now. We are missing Joel Smith bad ly as well. As much as I hate to say it, but he is a point of difference in the F50 we don't really have. That 3rd tall type that is hard to match up on who can take a grab. We've been screwed over by injuries and poor player management this season just as much as bad form and bad structures.

I reckon we're missing 7 or 8 or our best 22 most clubs wouldnt be winning with that but our game plan just straight up stupid campaigner kicks are unbelievable. The thing that ******* pisses me off is we never look where we are kicking its constantly either spin and dump it long, run get into trouble dump it or quick dump kick out of defense. Thats the 1 clear thing we do more than anybody else watching most games each weekend. Once again we try attack at any cost instead of using our ******* brains im not sure the players have em though. Its just get metres down the ground instead of actually working our way up the ground like every ******* team thats winning is doing. We won the speed in attack and lost speed in defense. Who at the clubs is looking at trends or does Goodwin actually believe his current game plan will work. Who at the club is setting up the kick that goes in and trains Weid where and how he should be leading. Another young bloke gonna get destroyed by our club. People blaming him for not being seen i bet he is leading up the ground to be an out and our stupid campaigner mids just bomb it over his head. Cant stand how ******* U10s we look out there we play like not 1 other team

And to not make 1 single ******* coaching change just proves how far our heads were up our own arses. ******* Brett Ratten was free to grab and St Kilda got him now look at the changes theyve made FFS we've stuck with inexperienced line coaches with an inexperienced head coach and just thinking itll all work out cause we had a couple good patches last year FFS

Hey, we're trying to tank, stop out-tanking us! Your list is way better than ours, we need pick 1 way more than you do.
Don't worry mate - the way we're going we won't even tank properly - we'll get on a run late in the year and win a bunch of junk games in a row, finishing 12th - missing out on the piss easy draw for next year and a top 5 pick.

It's just how we roll...

Yep 2019 is done. Bottom 4 probably, maybe 13th if we pull our finger out.

Get a long pre season, early draft pick, high priced recruits fit, a new fitness head, an easier fixture. Reload in 2020!

The remaining 16 weeks are gonna suck balls though!
And pray we are able to bounce back
