One of the best moments ever

Later when I saw the footage of him after the kick doing a bit of crowd surfing did I get the whole picture.

Great moment.

Over all when JLO played well we looked good.

I reckon his career will be remembered partly for what he 'could' have been.

For a number 2 draft pick, many other clubs' supporters wouldn't rate him that highly, and yet we all think highly of him.

It is a real shame that it has to end this way for him - he could have been one of the greats. But he's still one of OUR greats.

Injuries robbed you in your prime, but we have had a richer football experience for having seen you play.

Not a dockers fan, but have huge repsect for Longmuir.....that goal was just luck.....really earned respect one close game in Melbourne where he held the bloody team together and the dockers kept falling behind whenever Sandy came on to replace JLo.....(was it the game vs Melb that was previously mentioned?)

He was also, along with Ottens, outstanding at throwing his weight around on the ground in packs. He was great at getting down and dirty and scooping the ball out to downhill skiers like Headland ad co .

What a shame. Does anyone know the details of the injury? I mean what can be so bad that they cant fix it with modern surgery?

Does this means FFC's TPP exposure in 2008 & 2009 which is probably
around $600k been negotiated into the 2007 TTP??

How did they have that much slack in the 2007 TTP?

Maybe he only received $200,000 as a final payment as a player, but has a handshake agreement to be our ruck coach for the next 2 years on $200,000p.a. which will be put in writing when he returns from his break?

You bugger, you stole my thunder. I can't remember the year either but JLo copped a big knock and then came back and ran himself into the ground. I rmember him contesting everything backward of the centre circle and repelling wave after wave of of Melbourne attacks.

Was that the game where McPharlin kicked 5 in the first quarter? That was deadset awesome viewing. I remember us getting absolutely mauled by Jeff White (we had stuck Matt Carr or someone like that as the third man up at the ruck knocks), then Longmuir comes back on and suddenly every time Johnstone and all those other blokes tried to bomb it long to Neitz and Robertson there's JLo just sitting in space under the ball. Every time.

Only 26 years old as well, good luck in the future to him.

Obviously that kick after the siren affects me as a Saints fan, we were completely out of gas in that last quarter and just couldn't hang on. I was pretty shattered at how the loss happened but I have to admit the scenes following that kick were pretty amazing.

Freo ended up missing the finals the next week though which was quite a contrast.
