Depending on which part of the following article on afl.com, Essendon are having their camp in Darwin OR Northam.

I'm pretty sure it's Darwin but you never know with the AFL

Quote from the article for those who don't want to read the full thing:

Following its camp at Northam, Essendon will play the with the bi-annual Qantas Indigenous All-Stars match in Darwin on Friday February 9.

Nah I'm pretty sure they wouldn't send you to a town 100kms from Perth... but then again... it is the AFL.

On a side note - another Indiginous All-Stars game! :thumbsu: I wonder what chance of it being televised? Freo could have up to 8 players involved!

What happens with Essendon's Indigenous players? Will they get a guernsey with either side, or sit it out altogether?

Have heard that Northam is blue ribbon Eagles territory and Fremantle have had a PR disaster wuith them some ten years ago (from a cancelled pre-season match there) and there has been a lot of disgust made about the club there since.

Probably a very good opportunity for Fremantle to build some good PR relations and get a few more supporters.

Foxfooty used to show it but I doubt 7 or 10 will, which is a shame.

Good question, I would say Lovett-Murray, Ryder etc will play for the indigenous side but thats just a guess.

The indigenous lineup will be exciting to watch.
I'm sure I've missed a couple, but it's an extremely strong side on paper.
B- Wirrpanda Grover Hayden
HB- X Clarke Johnson Lovett-Murray
C- Wells McLeod Burgoyne
HF- Pearce Franklin Davey
F- O'Loughlin Williams Farmer
R- Ryder Goodes Burgoyne
Int from- Cook, Pickett, Tambling, Brennan, Betts, Headland, R Clarke, Walker.

Bloody quick, but a bit light on for key position players. Although it seems to be that way every year and they win by 10 goals - albeit in a practice match.

Their key positions have actually improved since last time, but they are still light on. A couple of years ago Johnson was selected even though he hadn't played a senior game, and Dion Woods led their ruck.

Yep not many of the purple army here but we're growing. They scheduled a game(against essendon I think)here then said it was too hot to play, which it was but the media showed them training in the afternoon at freo.Looked very poor at the time but its 3 or 4 degs hotter than perth and not much afternoon breeze if any unlike freo on the coast.I.M.O the problem was not the cancel of the game but the no-show of the teams.

Might head over to Northam. Just for a few days, so if they don't have any supporters they won't feel lonely :)

We used to go to Northam for a few basketball carnivals when I was young enough to run. Conditions during the day were more often than not extreme. Those conditions were not ideal for playing 4 quarters of football in at that time of year. So I can understand the need to monitor the conditions. Obviously you would like to play if you can but the players safety is paramount.

The other half cant wait as she works at one of the homes and she has the camera at the ready. It will be interesting to see how it goes and is thier any way of finding out in more detail where and when they're going to be.
