Next year could be a first in State of Origin history - Queensland may go into the series as favourites!

Greg Inglis is an absolute gun and another 12 weeks of club footy, plus a couple of internationals will do him the world of good. Lockyer and Petro are in some of the best form of their careers, and Hunt and Hodges continue to impress. The way the storm is going atm will only help as well with the number of Qlders in that team. The side may look something like this:

1. Hunt
2. Tate
3. Hodges
4. Inglis
5. Slater/Wesser
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Thurston
8. Civoniceva
9. Smith
10. Price
11. Webb
12. Myles
13. Johnson/Carroll

14. Berrigan
15. Crocker
16. Thaiday
17. Bowen

Depth players: Stagg, Kaufusi, Flannery, Scott, Tonga, Bell, Prince.

That is one of the best backlines i have seen in origin history. I can't wait!!

That's one scary looking team.

Don't ever write off the Blues though, Warick, as you most probably well know.

1. Minichello
2. King
3. Gasnier
4. Cooper
5. Tahu
6. Carney (Wouldn't be suprised at all to see him here)
7. Orford
8. Bailey
9. Buderus/Young
10. Poore
11. Hoffman
12. Hindmarsh
13. O'Donnell

14. Creagh
15. Gallen
16. Riles
17. Preston

With all due respect to Graham Murray, hopefully he can step aside and allow someone like Bellamy to step in and develop a quality young team that will last NSW will in the long-term. As it stands, unlike Queensland, there are way too many 'over-the-hill' players who are purely in the team due to limited competition.

I know. And they will have Jamie Lyon as well. And it wouldn't be SOO without Qld naming some player who the rest of the country have never heard of (i.e. Jacob Lillyman or Scott).

But according to Benny Elias, a NSW 2nd side would beat a full-strength Qld.

Yeah, good one you filthy germ. :thumbsu:
