With the draft done and dusted I thought I would give next seasons team a go. I'm expecting the AFL to go with 5 subs next year and drop the strategic sub, if that's the case IMO we go back to 2 genuine rucks. With everyone available >

Seniors >

Brandon Starcevich, Jack Payne, Darcy Wilmot.
Keidean Coleman, Harris Andrews, Tom Doedee.

Oscar McInerney, Lachie Neale, Josh Dunkley.
Hugh McCluggage, Will Ashcroft, Jarrod Berry.

Charlie Cameron, Eric Hipwood, Cam Rayner.
Lincoln McCarthy, Joe Daniher, Zac Bailey.

Dev Robertson, Connor McKenna, Dayne Zorko, Jaspa Fletcher, Darcy Fort.

Reserves >

Shadeau Brain, Darragh Joyce, Carter Michael.
James Madden, Zane Zakostelsky, Ryan Lester.

Henry Smith, Jarryd Lyons, James Tunstill.
Harry Sharp, Callum Ah Chee, Jaxon Prior.

Logan Morris, Luke Lloyd, Noah Answerth.
Reece Torrent, Brandon Ryan, Kai Lohmann.

Kalin Lane, Darcy Gardiner + top ups.

I think the last 2 spots will be between Dev Robertson, Callum Ah Cheee and Jaspa Fletcher, one of them misses out.
I think you've got the seniors best 23 absolutely right. I'd add Ah Chee to that group should we decide not to play a 2nd ruck.

In the reserves there's a few positional changes I'd make and I think you've missed Reville as well. I think Brain will move back to his fwd position, Answerth back or wing, could even get midfield time. Gardiner definitely a starter. Prior also in the backs over Michael. ZZ bench to start with, Torrent also. Morris, Lloyd, Ryan, Lohmann, Brain and Reville looks a pretty good developing fwd set up.

It is clear tho, that there will be just as much competition for reserves positions as there is for the seniors team. And that has to be great for the club. Certainly pressure on players to perform in this reserve group as well.

The seniors look about right. Strong list again as long as they avoid injury.
Slight positional changes I’d make would be Neale in the centre, and Ashcroft to play more the roaming ruck/rover role.
Doedee back pocket, McKenna HBF, and Wilmot on a wing. Berry on the starting bench. He needs a big year. Lots of competition for a wing with Wilmot, Fletcher, Levi next year, and a fully fit Answerth.
I hope for a better year from Starcevich next year. He just didn’t look like himself this year.

As far as the top ups go for the seconds, I thought Wyllie Buzza was last year’s captain. I hope he’s back for another year.

So what do people think re. arrivals and vacant numbers?

Doedee
Ryan
Morris
Lloyd
Zakostelski
Torrent
Reville

Available numbers: 10, 12, 13, 19, 21, 24, 36, 38, 42.
Hoping we keep 10 available for Levi (Or Will if he wants to swap).

Give 10 a year off for Levi if he wishes to take it on.

Just beat me to it and Will has already stated that he would like to build his own legacy in the number 8

Pretty sure someone on here mentioned he's signed elsewhere for 2024.

doedee was 39 at adelaide and ryan was 46 at hawks. i dont think big o would give 46 to ryan (and i doubt he has a real attachment to that number anyway...) but i do wonder if michael would be willing to give doedee 39 if he really wanted it

First day back. Couple of nice additions out on the track.

It has to be so good for Levi’s development training with an AFL side in the lead up to his draft year.

Also I saw Reville in the background. Excited to see how much growth and development is in his game now he is in a full time environment.

If Will has a game or two coming back through the reserves, it would be great to see if Levi could play in one of those.

Also saw Robertson in that clip with a hand-cast, hopefully nothing serious for him.

Just me or does Levi look a bit more powerful than Will? Effectively has a couple of pre seasons before his first game too. Reminds me a bit of Rowell in that he was a contested player from the very start. Will have been as well but with a smaller build

Coming back from a knee must be so monotonous. Doedee will be doing those sorts of drills for another few months!
