I think that we all agree that we need a big full forward.
The Kings are out of bounds.
Our own kids don't seem to be in that rare place.
So who can be the missing piece in the forward 6 puzzle?
Moving forward (Yes, a cheese filled pun)...
Ginnivan, Henry, Mc Creery, Checkers (2 more years) Elliott (could have been anything...damn injuries)
Johnson, Kreuger, McInnes...
2 veterans and 6 new/promising players.
Who can be our great hope?

Don't Expect Miracles and most likely lose more games then we win for rest of the season.

Just Hope we Show Fight even in our Losses

Hope we stay rather Injury Free as well

Think they need a KP back before anything.

Washed up Casboult looked like Carey a week ago and Lynch almost kicked a personal best. Oh and Kennedy and Darling won it for the Eagles....

Need a Key Forward just as much as we are Too Short and don't have the long kick to Forward Line Type

Also a Inside Mid that can Win a Clearance could also help

We don't just need a key forward or two . . .

Roughy is very near the end now - if he goes down completely without an adequate replacement . . . . . .

Well it just doesn't bear thinking about.

Just have to Chase any AFL Calibar Tall we can get our Hands On

Equally in need of two star quality bookends. We won’t become successful until we address the ‘elephant’ in the room.

The elephant in the room is that we have no elephant in the room. Need to draft one.

Realistically we are 3 KPP short.

2 x kpf.
1 x kpd.

But we have Krueger and McMahon as potentials, Krueger has a lot going for him but not sure on his actual marking ability or ability to kick goals. Yes he flies for them but doesn’t oft hold them. Injury prone too.

McMahon is years of development away to know.

Why don't we just draft some tall guys from Port Melbourne like with did with Mihochek, at least we'll be trying something. We can't keep persisting with half backs in full back positions (Howe, Moore) and we have to try something different beyond just Cox as a big target. The other problem is our midfield isn't great and our expensive ruck is missing and it's had 0 impact, we are no worse off without him.

Find another Roughead/Dunn lock down FB type in a trade for a late pick. Hope Dean can overcome his injuries and be that CHB.

Move Moore forward. Realistically any KPP we draft will just be another McMahon/Kelly that will need years of development before having real impact in the seniors.

Even Josh Kennedy was rubbish for years at Carlton before finally developing into a gun at WCE

Moore plus Mihocek and Ash Johnson will be a pretty dynamic forwardline.

I remain optimistic of the guys we’ve currently got on board. McMahon, Dean, Begg, Kreuger, Johnson, and Kelly have all shown a bit at various times. They enter 2023 with another preseason under their belts and hopefully some extra senior experience behind them. Draft tall this draft and let the players we have hold the fort with the more established Moore and Checkers till the 2022 cohort come through.

If Moore can't hold down a key back post, he becomes a very expensive player given the peripheral role he plays in defence. He is getting paid to play a KPD role which he is really not able to play.

Three of the 6 players you name as having shown something are yet to show anything at AFL level. Kelly and Kreuger appear to be made of glass. Begg is yet to really indicate if he is going to be a regular tall in the line up and has not yet been tried as a KPP. Your optimism is not really contagious.

All these guys are battlers/role players at best, we need to find elite KPP talent.

Doesn’t need to be at senior level to give optimism.

Not trying to sway you either way, happy for you to be as pessimistic as you want.

Roughy’s a role player. Checkers was recruited as a role player. I’m happy for them all to be long term role players.
