Mitchell Grigg has finally got a game for Norwood and has had a fairly good game.

Agreed, he is destroying it in a losing side. Wouldn't be getting the quantity of easy kicks like he has been apparently getting in the Reserves. Good signs

Some interesting performances in the SANFL so far.
Grigg was dominating for Norwood for 3 Quarters, then didn't play the 4th I'm guessing
Neale was strong in the clearances for Glenlg with a side high 5.
Kennedy got 27 disposals and a goal, probably playing more in the midfield, impressive
Terry Milera got 18 disposals and 5.3 for the Pies
O'Hara for the doggies got 24 disposals

They were the most impressive amongst potential draftees I thought...

Very good chance he'd make it to us - hard for the PAPs to justify him over Tyson.

Kennedy finished with 27 touches

Please please please make it happen AFC

Jimmy Toumpas got 19 disposal on debut for the eagles. He can be picked up in the GWS Mini draft

Agreed he did get a lot if the ball. Was good at clearances. He is a big boy for his age, he didnt look overly quick though. I wonder how he would go at Afl level.

I have my doubts about Pfeiffer, he looks too slow. I would prefer Suckling.

Did anyone go watch? Did he rack them up through the midfielder or more in the forward line?

Only watched the 2nd half but he did rack them up in the midfield and kicked a nice goal.

Would be great to get him. Maybe a new coach will be a little more ruthless in these types of trades.

FFS we HAVE to get Ben Kennedy. 27 touches and a goal in his third league game

Pfeiffer still looking a realistic rookie option and Michael Grigg... hope he reaches pick 10.

Agree, I think we need to go all out for both Kennedy and O'Meara (am I dreaming much?), they won't come cheap(We should start with our Davis compo pick, I'd assume GWS, similar to GC would be keen to stockpile a few of these), but we need to get some serious quality into our side and by the sounds these two are exactly that. Now if it means a little short term pain, then so be it, next year won't be our year, nor probably the year after, so its not the end of the world.

Agree James, 2013-14 has to be the beginning of our window for finals and while that coincides with a few other teams such as GCS and possibly Melb and Richmond our drafting this year and next has to be geared to this. If it means trading away some talent such as Knights, Douglas, D-Mac to get the Kennedy's and others then we need to bite the bullet and do it.

These next two drafts are vital to set us up for the next 5-7 years. We need to unearth a couple A grader mids and probably another A grade rebounding defender. New coach will have a big say and you would think would have a fair idea what sort of players are needed to improve the side.

Jimmy Toumpas was excellent in his first league game for the Eagles yesterday. Silky skilled and fast. Worth a look at.

Won't get picked up in the GWS Mini-Draft so is a 2012 prospect only. I call him "The Running Man". Great workrate and always seems to be using the footy on the run.

When do they expect the GWS compo picks to be announced?
Dom Tyson looks really good aswell, liekly to go before our pick?

I'm really keen on Kennedy but there is another way we could get him. Other clubs aren't (or don't appear to be) as keen on him as us, Port (our major rival) is probably more interested in Grundy. Would it be worth taking a chance and not making a bid for the mini draft. That way next year (factoring that we finish low again) we could pick Kennedy and another gun player in the draft with a probable Band 2 compo pick (from the Davi$ defection). This is a high-risk-high-reward strategy but if it pays off then we could end up gaining 2 good young players (picked in the top 10) without having to break up our core. Just thought it was worth a mention...

Unfortunately for us Tyson's stocks are starting to bolt. Happened with Heppell last year; we were in a position to pick him up (IIRC Rendell was keen) until he put in a few massive late season performances and went up the draft order.

We'll probably miss out on Tyson but there will still be plenty of midfield talent left around our pick.

The guy I like is Devon Smith. Short, very quick, silky type of player. Similar to Ben Kennedy but won't cost us anywhere near as much.

If we can snag Kennedy with the Davis compo pick this year (through trade to GWS) then we would be stupid to wait and try our luck in the draft next year. For all we know, he could have a massive year and rocket into top 2 pick catergory and we would miss out.
Not only that, we would be able to get him training, eating etc with our guidance so he is ready straight away the following year when he officially become a crow player.

We should go as hard as we can to get B Kennedy, he is keen to stay in SA and play for the AFC it would be something different to have some absolute elite class and skill at our club and may actually sway some of those "thinking" of heading elsewhere as it adds to the potential tag.

Lets hope we can get a gun midfielder with pick 10. Please pick a natural footballer and not an athlete. You cant buy football nous. You cant teach instinct. You either have it or you dont. We have enough athletes.
