Here's the list of players who have nominated for the GWS minidraft...

The players who nominated by yesterday's 2pm deadline were:
Chase Bower (Norwood, SA),
Adam Carter (South Fremantle, WA),
Brad Crouch (North Ballarat Rebels, Vic),
Dayle Garlett (Swan Districts, WA),
Brodie Grundy (Sturt, SA),
Matthew Haynes (Northern Knights, Vic),
Riley Hutchinson (East Perth, WA),
Emmanuel Irra (South Adelaide, SA),
Ben Kennedy (Glenelg, SA),
Aaron Loccon (Norwood, SA),
Sean Lynch (South Fremantle, WA),
Todd McKay (South Adelaide, SA),
Jaeger O'Meara (Dongara/ Railways, WA),
Jonathan O'Rourke (Calder Cannons, Vic),
Jason Pongracic (Dandenong Stingrays, Vic),
Mason Shaw (South Fremantle, WA),
Josh Simpson (North Adelaide, SA),
Jake Stringer (Bendigo Pioneers, Vic),
Shannon Taylor (Claremont, WA),
Jimmy Toumpas (Woodville West Torrens, SA),
Nick Vlastuin (Northern Knights, Vic),
Matt Wallis (Norwood, SA),
Laine Wilkins (Peel Thunder, WA),
Daniel Williamson (Norwood, SA),
Christopher Yarran (Perth, WA).

May have some more bargining power now that Philty Phil has cut and run. As others have already stated our priority selection could be used to grab one of the 4 GWS selects. Think that's right....

Of the shortened list of favs above, I'd be very keen on O'Meara and Kennedy.

You would think that GWS would be very keen to get some early picks to use in next years 'super draft'.

It fair to say that clubs will not willingly trade their young gun players to GWS for 17 year old (as GWS are only targeting young players).

Assuming that our compo is a band two pick (mid first round), then we have the best bargaining chip available to secure a 17 year old (notwithstanding that other clubs will pick up similar compo).

So which of the nominees will Rendell see as equal to a top ten pick in next years draft?

My guess us Jaegar and Kennedy will be the two we will gun for.

Just read about a kid Josh Gregg being invited to the State Draft Combine. Has anyone seen him play and what position does he play?
Could be a smokie like George Horlin-Smith last year.

Jacob Templeton is looks like he could be a good late draft selection or rookie selection.
Has been playing some good footy at half back for the Doggies.

I have seen Gregg play for North Adelaide and PAC this year. Has played U18s and Reserves for North but the majority of his football of late has been with PAC. He is probably too small for the next level. Is a good inside mid, very good around the stoppages and has a pretty good workrate. Kicking is solid and has a good distance ceiling. Doesn't mind tackling and doing some of the dirty work. He, along with Nick Amato are PAC's top players and dominate at school level. Rookie draft at best.

Id just want footballers now..not ex basketball/Soccer converts that we had sucess with eg. Tippett/Henderson.....Moran.

I want a footy brain, skill and good decision making. Work rate and endurance can be worked on. I know Milera didn't work out for us but rather this.

So you would rule out drafting someone without seeing them play either live at a game or on TV. You can add Riley to that list of AFL converts.

Are you sure Riley is a convert? I thought he played aussie rules in woolongong.

Other than a miracle occurring at Patersons Stadium, pick 10 is ours :thumbsu:

There's always an upside :)

That miracle would involve the Bulldogs losing to Freo and us gaining 11% vs the Eagles.

I'm looking forward to the AFL's shambolic top 10 ceremony. Our scrawny new recruit stepping up to the stage, highlights with a voiceover, getting presented with the guernsey etc etc.

Wouldn't want rubbish footy players like Pendles aye.....:p

Best players. Don't give a crap what their background is. And uh, I'll take as many more Tippett's as we can get.

It looks like pick 10 is almost a lock, so it will be interesting what compo level we get for Judas and whether we use it straight away if we can get Kennedy or save it for next draft.

Haven't changed my thinking on type...mid, mid, mid, either draftee or mature age. Still would like to make a play for Wingard somehow, rated very highly of all the captains in all the U18 champs...pipe dream though.

We should get a highly rated player that should be in the best 22 by the end of the year.

So much also depends on the new coach and what sort of broom is swept through the joint. Rendell is safe you would think.

Grigg will probably fall to pick 10 and would probably fulfill your criteria, is from SA too which is a bonus. Would also love either D.Tyson (my preference) or D.Smith (would suit our needs) but both will probably get picked higher than 10. We will probably get a good mid in the 1st round, it is what happens later on that concerns me...

From what I've heard of Grigg, he is likely to go 5-10... Leaving us only a small chance

Absolutely stoked to be wrong...

If Adelaide miss out on Mitch Grigg, they will have dodged a bullet.

Just read the thread on him in the Draft Watch sub board in the D&T forum. Adelaide Hawk has a very good observation.

I can't touch on it more as I am really not allowed to.
