I think the main problem is, Rooboy can't take it when somebody criticizes his meaningless club.

Yet, if Rooboy barracked for somebody else, he wouldn't be criticizing, he'd probably be joining in. That fact just shows how bias he is. He frefuses to even "try" to look at things from a neutral perespective. There is nothing wrong with being passionate. But you can be passionate AND neutral at the same time. Like me.

His envy towards some of the "power" clubs is just so obvious. Still, he's a loser and that can't be helped.

With the exception of your Bomber Mongrels there aint any power clubs, cos the AFL7 like to keep all the power

Some clubs have the potential but apart from essendon they all have weaknesses

The candidates:

Adelaide, West Coast - Have stability and 2 flags each but need HISTORY

Carlton, Collingwood - Have large support which turns up at games but Carlton have huge debts and Collingwood were/are poorly managed

St Kilda, Richmond - Potential huge support if they could be more consistently successful

Geelong - Huge debts but if they could just motivate their region would be unstoppable

Hawthorn - If they survive and dont try to self desruct again the winning ethos will make them as strong as any club

Melbourne, Bulldogs, North could be successful if their good management could translate to wider support. Like Hawthorn the doggies and North would benefit from longer to build up generational support - they didn't really start being successful until the seventies. Ironically footscray was a power in the old VFA before transferring

Am I the only one who who is thinking to themselves - "I can't believe that I am barracking for G4E!!!???"

Recent threads have revealed nothing new about g4e, but they have been very enlightening about some of his chief "repliers"

Dan, ~I know you keep assuring us that you are - "NOT BIASED"!... but you must realise that none of us believe that patently false statement. We are not idiots!

Anyway...

Personally, I reckon North's success, given their lack of resources, is astounding. They are clearly the most successful and professional outfit for the last decade. On and off the field.

People who are so envious of their success that they resort to laughing at the possibility of their extinction, are not true footy supporters.

Questioning their sense of tradition is one thing, but hoping for their demise (constantly bringing it up) is both disgusting, and indicative of vicious jealousy.

Essendon are the best team in the league. They cheated on the salary cap and were caught and punished. That they got caught is surprising because apart from that lapse, their administration has been excellent.

Pess, I think you have overestimated the Saints "possible" support base. They are entrenched in the group of "most likely targets" - which includes North/Bulldogs/Melb/Hawks/Geelong.

But the reality of the situation is that ANY VIC CLUB COULD FOLD!!! That is why Eddie and Elliot are suddenly good buddies.

The effect of this is that all Melb clubs (and their fans) secretly hope one of the others will fold... incresing their own chance of survival.

Recent threads show that even Essendon fans feel this threat and react with hysterical venom. What hope for the rest of us????

I can support my team, but that doesn't mean I can't make rational statements, whilst remaining passionate at the same time. Everything I have written (except when I am "bragging" about Essendon) I would have written no matter who I barracked for. I am very open-minded about football.

I've said many times that Pagan is the best coach in the AFL How many Essendon fans would say that ? I've also said that Carlton are the AFL's historically most successful club. I don't let my pasion get in the way of the facts. So please.....read my posts in future and show a bit of respect.

And would you kindly tell me which idiots on here said they wanted North to fold ? I call North "meaningless and unimportant" and somehow idiots on here think that means I want thenm to fold. Fools.

It doesn't mean I want them to fold. It just means I think they are un-important to the AFL competition.

The main differences between Rooboy and Dan:

Dan goes into much more depth to try and get his point accross, generally without resorting to abuse.(but not always)

Rooboy admits he is biased in his posts and is not ashamed to admit it.

Every one uf us is biased in our posts when they are regarding our own club or our own style of presentation. That is natural. We cannot help it, it is human nature. Once we all accept that we can get back to good natured debate.
