Judging by the show us your gaming setup thread, I figure that there's quite a few gaming collectors around the place. So, for the gaming collectors out there, there's a new site that gives you a bunch of random loot (not necessarily JUST gaming gear) and it's just opened up to ship to Australians!

Basic gist, you pay $30 a month and these guys will send you out a bunch of random goodiess, all based around a certain 'theme'.

They have had themes like CONSOLE WARS (Speaks for itself), CELEBRATE, ANIMATE (Bunch of animation show gear), SURVIVE (Lots of horror/zombie stuff), CAKE! (Portal specific) and VARSITY ('School' theme). As you'll see by them they follow their titles and throw in some neat stuff too.

Anyway, I just wanted to get this out there as I think it's a pretty awesome idea for the collector inside of all of us. I just signed up, who else is gonna join up?!

Cool concept though half of that stuff is of no real interest to me and the other stuff isn't screaming out as a must have or anything. I mean, I wouldn't mind a Star Wars phrasebook or a Batman wallet but it's not something that I look at and get super excited about. Just a passing "oh, that's cool" sorta thing.

Regardless, I'll probably get a box at some point.

I think the only thing that kind of really holds it back, is the price for Aussies.

For the US guys it's about $20 a month or about $17 if you do a 6 month sub. So it probably offers a bit more of a value option for the stuff.

That said, I like the cool little things and variety offered. Sometimes there'll definitely be useless stuff, but the most stuff is still cool.

Just had a look at their past crates and there's seriously no value in any of this stuff. A doctor who balloon? A Star Trek patch? A rubber bracelet that says gamer?

Pass. Cheaper to buy this stuff by itself but even then you're still wasting money.

17 bucks is far more reasonable, and actually quite good value in the months that come with t-shirts...

Logistically though not much you can do about that though in terms of getting it to Aussies.

I bet there'd be close to a 300% mark up in the US ($5.67 / $17) for what they pay for it if its not even significantly higher than that.

Yeah it may not be the best value for money, but its not bad, there is some cool stuff in some of them.
Another couple of similar sites are nerdblock and bootybin.
Im not sure if bootybin is international but nerdblock is and looks much better value.

Just got my first Crate.

It's a great little box, this month is full of stuff based around the Bravest Warrior Comic/TV Series. There's plenty included, a T-Shirt, Printed Carry Bag, Mini Figurine, A Badge, A bow tie (lol) and a couple of freebies including a years membership to a weird greeting card site and a free redemption code for the first issue of Bravest Warriors from Comixology.

Overall a good first month to buy in. Looking forward to further months goodies now.

Announced a few days ago, March's Crate will be based on Titanfall and will include an exclusive Titanfall Shirt from EA/Respawn.
