2 from first 2 @ 300+ yards. Kyler Murray/Cam Newton the only others.
  • Justin Herbert completed 35-of-49 passes for 330 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the Chargers' Week 3 loss to the Panthers, adding three rushes for 15 yards.
Herbert accumulated stats thanks for three quarters of negative game script, often checking down to Austin Ekeler and taking occasional downfield shots. He left the game briefly in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury but walked it off and returned before LA ran another play. Herbert's presence is a big plus for Ekeler and Keenan Allen. The rookie isn't an ideal streaming candidate next week against Tampa.

Tyrod Taylor (ribs) remained sidelined on Thursday.
For whatever reason, coach Anthony Lynn has refused to rule Taylor out for Sunday's game against the Bucs, but it will again be Justin Herbert under center. Lynn needs to get used to the idea that it will be his rookie going forward. Turning back now would make zero sense.

Really optimistic about this team's future. Herbert with 290 yards today, another promising showing. He's the man.

Our rookie WR had the most receiving yards for us, and our rookie QB the most rushing. Lulz. Could easily be 4-0, though we were lucky in Cincinnati so that probably offsets the close one vs the Chiefs.

Tom Brady is just too good. We were up 24-7 and he just flicked the switch. Ekeler out for an indefinite period adds salt to the wound.

Still, Bolt the * up.

Thought the 4th and 1 call to punt with 3 mins left in the game was a Shithouse decision given the d that had been roasted all second half. (Even though you did get the ball back)...Lynn needs to loosen the * up and start taking some more risks when the opportunity is there to do so.

Justin Herbert has been named the Chargers' starting quarterback for the rest of the season.
Herbert forced head coach Anthony Lynn's hand with excellent play over the past three weeks, posting a 72 percent completion rate, throwing five touchdowns to three interceptions, and going over 290 passing yards in each start. Lynn had hesitated to commit to the rookie after the Chargers' staff punctured Tyrod Taylor's lung with an injection and forced him to miss LA's Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs. Fantasy wise, Herbert has vaulted Keenan Allen into fringe WR1 territory, as Allen has a whopping 40 percent target share since Herbert took over. Hunter Henry has also seen a boost, getting nearly 18 percent of the team's targets with Herbert under center. Herbert is a top-end Week 5 streamer against the Saints.

That's a really bitter pill to swallow. Herbert needs a better o-line. Can't believe we've lost 4 matches in a row - could have won them all.

Ekeler/Allen both absentees (well, Keenan for most of this game). Makes you wonder what we can accomplish at full-strength and improved coverage for Herbert.

Really no one would think we would win against the Saints, while it hurts to lose after being so close, still good signs. The draw opens up and hopefully start to win a few. Herberts 4th game, and showing great promise.
But sick of losing these close games.

Herbert...... Maaaaaaaaaaaate

347 passing yards for 3 touchdowns
66 rushing yards for 1 touchdown

22 years old. Widely predicted to be a flop.

Speechless. So happy we have him. Kind of annoying though, that he's currently carrying us on his shoulders. Doesn't look like much will change, with Ekeler still a while away according to Lynn.

Relieved to have won, finally. Wildcard here we come- bolt the * up.

Herbert has been superb, couldn’t ask more of rookie QB. Now got to fix everything thing else, O-line, Strengthen the defence, get a new kicker.

Have been comfortably ahead of TB, Nola and now Denver, all which have resulted in defensive capitulations. Were looking solid against Kansas too.

This one stings the most, for obvious reasons.

You put up 30 points, you should win most games. Our defence is so weak, no teams are scared of running down a score. The only bronco player injured was one hit by there own guy, Johnson! Wish we had guys like that, he was pumped, putting his body on the line, hitting hard. Just doesn’t seem to be any leadership back there.

Just get tired of watching the same thing over and over again, surely it has to change soon and we start winning a few of these. Better still, not let teams close when we get a lead.
Bloody hard being a Chargers fan ( on top of the pain going for the Dons).
