They had posters that they hung in pub toilets, "Problem with drugs, talk to Frank". Amusing thing for us was a guy called Frank was the biggest dealer in the pub.

Especially with how much they cost now you would have to be dumb as dogshit to still smoke them in 2021.

I'm also always amazed at how many people on welfare you see puffing away on them. How could they afford it, just don't feed their kids few days a week or something I guess.

Hells bells! Over $50 for a pack of PJ30's

From what I heard there's a booming black market trade in untaxed **** or tobacco that never used to exist back when the same PJ30's were about $2 - I assume.

I've also noticed far more people rolling their own than back in the 80's when that was more an old man's style. Can't be all hipster driven? And in my area at least, the cigarette bins / repositories all get pried open by homeless & junkies looking for tobacco pretty much daily.

Even Abbott tried to road test criticising tobacco excise laws at one point when he talked about Labor's planned hikes on excise as a "worker's tax". Like most things with him was just politicking but it was interesting that he picked up on it.
 
I remember parking near the back of my favourite 24hour restaurant in Geelong and there was a train line there and heaps of tobacco growing wild on the edge of the tracks.
Must have been the end of the line and where they moved tobacco seeds around ???

Cant believe some enterprising person wasnt down there rolling cigars

I used to look at guys smoking as to insecure to hold a conversation with an excuse for their presence.

I'd go further than fantastically dumb and mentally weak; by adding rude and inconsiderate.
