The official website has a list of players who they are trying to track down for the upcoming Swans anniversary dinner;
  • David Brown
  • Fred Campbell
  • Robert Caprioli
  • Michael Davis
  • Gary Frangalas
  • Brent Green
  • Darryl Henderson
  • John Hutton
  • Michael Kennedy
  • Tony Malakellis
  • Peter Maloni
  • Merv Neagle
  • Mark Orchard
  • Brett Page
  • Mark Russell
  • Malcolm Scott
  • Anthony Sinclair
  • Shayne Smith
  • Mark Wall
I challenge any supporter to remember some of them.
If you feel like going, pretend you're Caprioli or Sinclair. I'm sure no one else will recognise them.

I don't know what the family situation is like, but considering Jay Neagle (on the Essendon list) is Merv's son, perhaps a call to the Dons mightn't go astray.

Whenever I see Fred Campbell's name I always think of Jamie Lawson. Both small Aborigine speedsters, but Jamie is a lot more fondly remembered. :)

Campbell, Hutton, Green, Orchard... now that takes me back a few years.....

Me too. Although I can only really remember Orchard playing regularly (didn't we get him as part of the Rocca defection package form Collingwood?). Brent Green I only remember as a reserves player who struggled his way to a handful of appearances.

I remember Brent Green. Big lump of a lad, I think he made his debut with Brett O'Farrell against Geelong when we absolutely thumped them in front of a full house. Kicked a couple of goals too. Retired in his 20s to become a farmer.

That'd be him. Huge man. Chockers with potential. But never really took to the AFL way of life. Can just picture him in a paddock tossing around bales of hay one handed. :D

Can't help but think how many BAD picks we had with our recruiting judging by some of the names that were supposed to be "potential stars" in that list.

I remember how Shayne Smith was going to be a champion.

Jon Hutton was going to be a big goal scorer. He was..................but only when he played against us!!!:thumbsd:

Hehehe..............

Shayne Smith is renound for having a very short fuse, both before, during and after his AFL carrer.

On the other hand I would like to think the only reason Merv Neagle is not rememberd is because were too young, the guy would have a fair few games for us and the bombers combined. l

O'Farrell!!! There's another one! He was like Adrian McAdam, a one season wonder!
