I went through all the old threads last night and couldn't find anything about it.

I just saw this movie (Love Actually, for anyone who didn't catch the name of the thread!) and I absolutely loved it. A bit more than your average sweet romance movie, it told a lot of tales and each and every one of them was entertaining! There was just enough comedy and thoughtful moments to create a really nice balance. And the soundtrack fitted each moment perfectly.

And I absolutely LOVE the ageing rocker with the Christmas song!! How funny was that.

I'd love to hear what everyone else thought of it.

I actually rented it last night. When this movie was in cinemas I kept hearing 2 different views of the films, a couple of friends said great, love it, others thought the film "tried to hard". However after watching it last night I must say that I believe the film was brillant! The all-star cast were just amazing and all had a great on screen relationship with each other. oh aswell I also think, personally, that Hugh Grant plays those types of characters to a tea! But I agree with you Lioness, the music suited the movie oh so well! The film was brillant, especially with the little warm and fuzzy moments. I would recommend it to anyone who loves the romantic comedy genre. :)

I quite liked the Hugh Grant line; "You saucy minx.":)

That's what i thought. The rocker thing got tired after the very first scene. That guy that went to America to find girls, i mean, come on. All in all, you just can't interweave a dozen separate stories in one movie. Most of them didn't even reach any sort of conclusion.

Hugh Grant was magnificant though. In all seriousness it was he who saved the movie in the end. Little kid and little girl was good. Almost went overboard with it but not quite.

You think so? I wasn't sure where it was going to go, but I thought some of the things he did to 'promote' the song were hilarious! And the song itself just made me laugh every time they played it.

I felt like each of the stories came to a pretty decent conclusion. Might just be me though.

I liked it, but my girlfriend didn't, which is a bit wierd considering it is a romance type movie.
GOOD! I'm going to show this post to my boyfriend, he thinks it's a bit of a chick flick and is a bit unsure about whether to watch it, so it's good to see a guy actually liked it!

You've made me very happy Joel thanks! :p

Yeah I thought it was amusing. Sweet.

Yes, loved it as well, a very enjoyable couple of hours, one of the better romantic comedies I have seen. And I thought you didn't like it RF1? :p

And I will be purchasing the DVD asap, I think it came out last Wednesday.

My folks went and saw this flick early in January and they didn't like it.

Not surprising really. Anything with Rowan Atikinson is in is rubbish.

Yes I want to purchase it also. :D I wish it was a little less than $30 but hey. It's worth the money.
