Lucid Dreaming

Lol I got sleep paralysis again.

I can now tell the difference between falling asleep, and falling into sleep paralysis. It feels like your falling backwards.

Also, if you just got out of sleep paralysis, get up and walk around for a bit. Because, well for me, if you go back to sleep you go straight back.

It started from when I was child. I'd have very realistic nightmares almost every night. My parents where both school teachers we had only one tv an they tried to stop me watching M and MA movies even when I was 16-17.

Weird circumstances of the dream - I was a defence lawyer and could control my movements, thought processes and everything that I asked the witness.

Haha. That is so random.

I can control my dreams sometimes. When I realize it is a dream I deliberately start doing really stupid stuff to try and make myself wake up. Weird feeling though.

6 things happen when I dream
1) I don't control it.
2) I start playing a game of football, as I try to control it I go full ****** and it takes untill the 2nd quarter where I can figure out how to run and kick
3) I start flying by doing the breastroke in the air
4) I **** some chick
5) I get in a massive fight (hand to hand, weapons or dragon ball z style) always take a pounding but somehow win
6) I try to talk, can't talk, then wake up and say what I was meaning to say.

I've had them, and it's funny I had one this morning just after reading this thread last night.

Some strong sleeping pills can also cause sleep paralysis, I've woken up still under their effect and found I couldn't move for awhile, and then when movement came back it was limited, I could only move a single limb at a time and it would take 5-10 seconds with full conscience effort for it to respond.

It tends to happen more for me when I'm really tired and fall asleep on my back. Agree it's very scary the first few times, but you definitely get used to it. I also get this roaring/rumbling in my ears when it happens, sounds like someone is screaming into my ear. First time I experienced sleep paralysis I thought I had died and was being dragged to hell. That was my first thought, anyway.

It tends to happen more for me when I'm really tired and fall asleep on my back.

I always get the most vivid dreams when sleeping on my back. I've heard it's to do with more blood flowing to the back of the brain, which is where the visual cortex is.

I also used have this recurring nightmare before having lucid dreams. And now that I have them, I can actually force myself to wake up. Now whenever I have this nightmare (or any other nightmare that happens to be lucid), I wake myself up before the worst part. It takes a tremendous amount of energy though, like my eyelids are weighed down with lead or something.

**** I hate that. I remember one time something scared the **** out of my in my dream so I started shouting and screaming. Woke myself up by literally screaming. You crap your pants when it happens.

Never been able to lucid dream though, sounds like it'd be decent to control your own dreams.

Had a rare one last night, was pretty awesome.

Ambulance came through so I pulled off the road, then the cops came and tried to arrest me. Then I started beating the shit out of this cop. After that he started smearing pig guts all over my car WTF???. Thats when I looked around like 360, and started laughing realizing I was in a dream. I dreamed up a Sledge hammer, axe, and shotgun. I was going to call the millitary but they were already there, thats when I called the aliens, and I remember thinking how incredibly detailed their technology was (Spaceships/war machines)

I remember saying thats enough, and went to wake up, but I couldn't, and had to really force myself to wake.
