I'd say no, only because of his age, his lack of skill, and the fact he "shit himself" under pressure in the 06 GF, passing the ball across goal to a WCE player in the last quarter.
Yes Sydney still won, but no thanks to Ablett.
So no, I'd prefer Shirley if we are going to go down the "experienced tagger" road.

Luke Ablett's blunder was in 2005, not 2006.

As a swans supporter I have to say, you would only draft luke ablett as cover if you had ~10 injuries and you wanted a ready made player to fil the 4rth bench position.
He is not worth it.
THERE ARE SEVERAL, SEVERAL MORE PLAYERS THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED.....not luke ablett. feel free though. please feel free.
Can't agree there sorry. Was in and out of the Swans line up. Not sure he has enough weapons to make it at Collingwood and certainly not best 22.Im going to go against the grain here and say yes.. when i heard he was delisted i was shocked.. i've always thought he was a good player and he would be in our first 22 without a doubt. on a par with macdonald shirley harris. This is a good year for topping the list and making it stronger.. with the loss of cox and clarke i think we will try to add an experienced player to out list.
Stuff it.
Slip him a couple of hundred to nominate Collingwood as his preferred club and let's see if Essendon, Brisbane and Melbourne can get their Lukes right.
Voss would almost be a cert.
