i never knew a senior player/former captain dropped from the first 22 and emg's, especially during a premiership charge would be worth a first rounder.

even if our friend RL breaks us for the deal we can still give our pick 39 for josh kennedy from the hawks. prismall is a gun midfielder who went at pick 39 despite playing well almost all year, while bally has been in poor form and has been dropped.

despite what you think st.kilda management will be open to a 2nd or 3rd round pick considering he's out of contract at 600k and that they cant keep paying him that.

...Prismall also got traded on the back on a knee reco, last I checked Ball was just out of form, he didn't tear his ACL or anything of the sort.

In a draft that is expected to be a lesser draft as far as drafts go, the later picks will be seen as simply not worth the upgrade unless it was us trading with someone like Melbourne, Richmond or Freo for the 2nd-3rd rounders, which have a similar chance of success of happening as Ball going for a mid to late 2nd round.

And despite what you think, St Kilda management would not be hearing a bar of anything until after the GF has concluded, so it's still a 50/50 that your right or wrong.

Treacle slow - can't take a contested mark - a one trick pony.

Guts gets you only so far. No mystery about his demise.

Will be traded for sure and swans have front running

The first 2.5 pages of this thread show SK supporters agreeing that Ball is struggling, and might not be in the best 22 anymore.

The next 1.5 pages of this thread show SK supporters expecting a first round or high second round (top 20) pick for him.

Something's not quite right!

Thing is , with the new rules for Rookie elevation, ( so that elevating Zac Dawson and Luke Miles will count as two draft picks ) the Saints may not use more than one or two picks this year anyway. Especially if the draft is as bad as rumoured.
So trading him for pick 39 or thereabouts wouldn't be any better for us than if we just de-listed him.
He has slipped from an automatic inclusion to a marginal player, but is probably still better in a final than most of the other marginal players on the StKilda list.

So Ball is struggling , but there is no point throwing him away and he might come good again.

:( Ball was one of my favourites going into this year, just so dissapointing seeing him play lower key footy. I hope he doesn't go

He may well be put on the table for trade, but we will not let him go without finding the right fit. Luke has just been forced to negotiate his contract based on his recent form. It is a good one for the St Kilda club and ordinary for Luke, unless he performs. There are several performance criteria to be met.

The club have now got themselves an elite player for the price of a lower middle performance player. Do you think that they will give that up lightly?

If your club wants him - there is the elite price tag - meet it or go %$#@ yourselves

changing the subject a bit, but what about Hudghton?? Too old, too injury prone. certainly Zac has filled his shoes this year and Goose still can't get a game

I think he is done.

Even when he plays in the middle he doesn't get enough contested ball like he should. Joey gets more contested footy and tackles and he is supposed to be an outside player. His tackling is his great strength but his closing speed lets him down so he's only good for those close contested situations. Disposal is pretty poor too.

I love him, but we shoulda, coulda, woulda had JUDD!

Ball's OP has cut him down badly. In hindsight St Kilda should not have played him through his OP problems. I remember him in the rooms after a game one season and he could'nt even get himself off the ground his groins were that stuffed. Doubt he even has Pubic bone left with so much wear and tear................

That crucial mark on the wing he dropped late in the 4th did it. I was spewing.

In ZAC we trust.

P.S- Max will be back soon I'm sure to take a Mooney or fevola if need.

I thought Raph Clarke was quite poor on Sunday, just quietly.

Don't pick on Raph.

The entire backline was vomit on Sunday night. How about Sam 'Rusty Gates' Gilbert?.....He had a shocker first game back but I'm glad he played because he has two games to find his feet which he will do.

We need to smash a team going into finals just so everyone can find touch again.

No we do not need to smash a team.

What we need to do for Sept is to click back into out TEAM processes and for all the players to regain their TOUCH and mojo.

Mind you, IF we do this I suspect that we will smash both the Roos and Demons.

Are we clutching at straws? He may be a great clubman but is he still capable of giving the team what it needs, especially against fast teams like the doggies?

The ABC said he and Geary (who ended up with 34) had 18 possessions at half time. I wouldn't have thought he'd got 40 myself (but certainly more than 30).

Straight back into the side, Rossco

We need that in and under guts and clearance work.

bring him back, ross. do it now
