I don't no who you think you are herculez 09 but you've got serious problems suggesting that rubbish... Armitage is probably going to be the best player on St Kilda's list in 2013

What, so people aren't allowed to have an opinion, and in turn, make a personal stand in leui of that opinion

FFS get off the high horse and stop doubting everyones faith when they dare mention not taking absolutely everything the club says as gold

Eddy over ball is a joke, full stop. It makes perfect sense to play ball on the G to really test if he can run out a game on that ground

My personal protest is just that.

AFail, you're allowed an opinion and can voice it. But not going to the game aint gonna make a difference.

I 100% agree with you. I want Luke Ball playing, but if he's not I'm still going to go to the game & support the 22 selected, at the end of the day we all want 1 thing. :)

UNLEASH THE BALL

All part of Ross Lyons master plan. Build up the hunger, then unleash him when it matters most.

Sadly, I don't agree

If he ain't training with the guys in finals week, it's over. I mean, to not let him train with the guys? That's a HUGE kick to the balls.

Shattered. Truly shattered.

dont hammer me for saying this, but the rumour over here in the west is that chris tarrant wants a move back to melbourne for personal reasons, and that he wants to go to the saints, and that RL is interested in replacing max, the trade being ball for tarrant straight swap. could be BS as there is also rumours that the hawks are keen as hell on getting him as well. thats just what was said on the radio over here

cheers

Won't hammer you - but that will never, ever happen. Never. Ball for tarrant? Nope. We have our max replacement - Zac.

Ball will go to Sydney as #1 preference. No way would he last on subiaco

How old is Chris Tarrant?

Don't think Ball is going anywhere anyway....(anyone....anytime.....)

as i said just the rumour going around town at the moment, personally i think we need more draft picks than anything else, and while ball is a great tough player, im not sure he would be around when we finally see success.... is there any chance he could take over baker as a tagger/back pocket?

28, im guessing if the rumour has any substance, it would be because RL would want to keep your window open for an extra couple of years, tarrant is extremely fit and has been sensational down back on talls and smalls, so i would think he has 2-3 quality years left in him, with max going, taz would be an ideal replacement. zac has been great for you guys, and while he has developed out of site, you could put taz on you fevola/pavlich/franklin types and let dawson take the second tall... you guys would be even more unstoppable than what you already are

If I was Luke Ball and didn't get selected for finals ahead of Robert Eddy, I would be going...anywhere.. into the draft would do.

I always thought Tarrant looked the goods, but never quite carved his niche before.

i know we have been below ordinary this year, but taz will be top two best and fairest this year. he kept brad johnson to nothing in two games, kept fev to nothing in two games and dominated plenty of other players in between, is an elite backman... not sure ball would be the right trade for either side, however it would surprise me if stkilda did not make a play for him

It's kind of logical that the Hawks would be interested in him. As for us, I'm not too sure. I'll admit to not watching many Freo games (ok, I've seen one - our game against them) but I've only heard good things about him and it sounds like he's been a very good backmen and been severely underrated this year.

Not sure so much that we need him, I feel Zac is a suitable replacement for Max (in fact it looks like RL has already made the swap). And I thought we all figured our backline was too tall anyway?

Will watch with interest if this rumour gets any legs though.

Now he'd be a great top up.

yeah, forgive ME for being ignorant, but who plays CHB for you guys regularly now? dawson i would have thought would be your FB, max hasnt been playing regularly has he? has fisher been your CHB? he is an attacking backman, i would have thought that with dawson at FB and tarrant at CHB that would enable guys like gram and fisher could become attacking weapons, with ray, baker and gilbert making up the rest... it makes me shudder at how good you guys could be, especially if Mcevoy comes through, you wouldnt have any weakness, for three years you could be the clear, standout side (which you may be anyhow)... while for us, we would be even less competitive than what we were this year, but atleast we could get another quality mid or a good pick to help us finally build something.... i love taz and wouldnt want him to go, but if he wants to leave it really could be a win/win, which is pretty rare

Ball is back this week according to the Age.

Ball poised to return for Saints

Michael Gleeson | September 3, 2009

ST KILDA midfielder Luke Ball's time in football purgatory appears likely to be at least temporarily over with the onballer almost certain to come into the Saints' team for Sunday's qualifying final.

Snip

Ball collected more than 30 touches in the VFL last week and is expected to resume despite the coach having significant concerns over his ability to offer the side run and spread from contests.

A very odd article, particularly the bit about them still not being convinced he can do the job.

"almost certain" to come in. Well, we shall see.
