I don't have any faith int hat article except it is somebody's opinion. there is no source and no quotes, just an opinion.

having said that he is named as first on the extended interchange, so it could be...

I'm a big fan of luke ball, think he's one of the best tacklers in the business. I would love to have him at essendon working together with Watson. What do you think would be a reasonable trade? (should the saints want to trade him)?

Hmm, my honest opinion on Luke Ball is a harsh one. If the coaching staff are refusing him games, due to lack of pace or lacking spread from contests, their decision is right. I love Bally though, and he seems like a great bloke when I've met him. He is also a magnificent tackler and leader-though if he can't offer what we want surrounding our game plan, then maybe he has to go. :(

Maybe - but should his replacement be someone who can't get win the contested ball?

None of the players on our list are perfect, but in the end we have to make the best of what we have.

Absolutely right. What a great asset he will be playing 50% game time, unable to turn or chase or kick over a jam tin and stuffed at the start of the last quarter the way he was in the VFL games where he piled on possessions in the first three quarters against hacks. It appears that we've given in to the sentiment and nonsense being peddled by the nostalgic fans who don't watch the Zebras and of course Grant (meddler and fool) Thomas. I'm praying that he really is prepared to take a hit for the team and is happy being left out for Geary who will run all day the way he did when we were playing our best footy.
Go saints! Go common sense. Out slowcoach.

gee your harsh, can you at least wait until after the game before you start disrespecting him.
He has a high level of expectation, so his bar is obviously higher than Geary's.

Bod Jah, whether you rate Ball or not he is a club champion and former captain. A bit of respect is in order, and for ****s sake at least wait until he's played to criticise him!

Will he hold his spot? I sure think and hope so

9 clearances in 50% is insanity.

He wasn't very influential in the string of possessions during the game, but he did what he does best: GOT THE CONTESTED BALL OUT

Leave him in Rossy, and play him in the guts and watch him feed the other boys clearance after clearance.

Assuming contested possession is what we were missing more than spread (fishers game helped that) then he was perfect. Not brilliant match for him but he should keep his spot.

He'll keep his spot brothers.

Don't underestimate that clever kick that started the chain of play that lead to Rooey's 5th goal. Was a very smart move under pressure.

It must just be me, but I never seem to notice Robbie Eddy laying tackles. I noticed he had 7 yesterday and had 6 last week. Is there a setting I need to adjust on my "guidance goggles"?

Good thing Ross Lyon notices Horse's efforts to keep the ball locked in. If people don't realise that's his job, they never will. Collingwood lacked run from defence, and it's the tackles and implied pressure that does it. Game high 7 tackles should not be ignored.

But I think on a dry deck (not sure how it didn't rain yesterday) Dempster would be in the mix.
