Disgraceful thread. Luke ball showed what true sportsmanship is, I thought he was not only humble in victory but showed empathy for the blokes he fought tooth and nail beside for 7 years and whilst wrapped to win the flag no-one could begrudge him feeling for his former team mates, this kind of sportsmanship is why the man is regarded so highly. No idea why some moron would start a thread like this when we have just won the 2010 premiership FFS.

Read the OP you ****wit.

You're either very young or an immature pr*ck, I am celebrating the victory but it does not mean I can no longer voice my opinion. I love the guy, but you need to understand that I would liked to have seen him a little happier and not referring to Collingwood as 'they' or 'them' instead of 'we' or 'us' like players usually do. Since I saw what happenned at AAMI park I'm no longer concerned, but other posters have seen where I have come from. Just because you can't does not give you an excuse for a personal attack.

Dumbass

Creating a crap thread certainly doesn't give you one.

Mate I am neither young or immature i just fail to see why the hell you would start a stupid thread like this after we have just won the flag. Obviously you are as you put it very young or immature, I appolagise if you saw it as a personal attack but FFS we just won the grand final and you are on big footy whinging about Luke Balls demenour, take this however you like but you are obviously a pissed off St Kilda supporter or as I put it a MORON.

It's great that we've won the premiership and all, but there's an elephant in the room and I'm gonna be the one to point it out.

2 weeks ago I was in love with Luke. I even started a thread on it here.

After today I'm not really sure his heart is with the club. I didn't see him smile after winning the premiership. He didn't once refer to himself as associated with Collingwood, ie 'we'. It was always 'they'. Nor did he say he was happy for himself - just for 'them'. He looked pretty torn, I thought. Very uncomfortable with the situation.

He was pivotal in us winning the big one, from actual effort to the knowledge and experience he brings to the youngsters. It is the only negative about a day like today.

It's called class, Kid.

One day you might understand

What a silly person you are.

Of course he was torn. Felt for the bloke. Weird scenario for the guy, totally bizarre set of circumstances.

Romantics will expect him to see collingwood as"the one". Realist will see that mates and the weight of his youthful efforts are gonna make being part of the side to break st kildas hearts well... difficult. Anything less and he'd have to be a bit of an A hole.

What a silly person you are.

Whatever mate the Pies won the premership today so enjoy it, if you truly are a Collingwood supporter of otherwise slink back into the hole you crawled out of we dont need ********s like you on here trying to put a negative spin on what has been one of the best days of a lot of our lives.

LUKE BALL........

HAD TO COME TO COLLINGWOOD TO WIN A FLAG.

Who would have thought?:D

Matty I couldn't have said it better. Bally would not be regretting his decision for a moment tonight, but has far too much class to rub his former team mates noses in it. We really got an amazing player who has become the heart and soul of our club within a single season, we should be lauding him with all the praise we can muster, because he deserves it.

Luke Ball you are a champion, and better than that you are a Collingwood Champion!

ladies, we just won and you are bitchin amongst each other
enjoy it and who cares if luke ball at that time was a bit torn, i understand the op but does it matter now??? not really
its party time

Boys, this is not the time to bicker, enjoy the the win :)

You're kidding me right?

The man didn't want to rub it in the noses of his former teammates. All class.

He was still wearing his jumper at AAMI Park, and when he was introduced to the crowd, he grabbed at the emblem and showed the crowd. His heart is definitely at Collingwood, don't you worry about that.

This. Both him and Jolly looked like they love the Pies judging by AAMI Park.

I disagree with the OPs slant but hope he didnt get red carded just for having an opposite opinion to most people.

Ball looks like the type of bloke who doesnt see victory as rubbing it into the face of others. Maybe a modesty in that he knows he is not one of the stars who made it happen and isnt playing the 'You dumped me and ill make you pay' card that so many egotists in football would take.

Woewodin embarrassed himself with his inability to accept his dumping from Melbourne whereas Ball looks like a real genuine bloke just taking his opportunities. Good luck to him.

Good luck to you guys. The draw was a blessing in disguise as it allowed you to win with a margin that reflected your dominance over the rest of the competition.

Average call from the OP. Must be a 'glass half empty' kind of guy.

Sure, his 'torn' emotions regarding the win were evident, to the extent where he described his predominent feeling as a "weird" one, and being uncertain as to how to react, etc, which is totally understandable, given his history at St Kilda, where he would still maintain a number of strong relationships. I imagine it would take a fair while to feel as though you truly belonged at an AFL club, let alone your 2nd one, and although he's been at Collingwood for 12 months, you can't deny there would be some lingering feelings toward his old club, who came so close to a flag last year.

One of the more intelligent, modest and classy players going around.

Do you think he should apologise for wearing his heart on his sleeve and showing some form of loyalty/emotion to his former club? Who have formed a massive part of his career and life as an AFL player?

You would not doubt Luke Ball's commitment to the Pies if you had seen him on stage at AAMI park when the players were presented after the win. He came out wearing his Pies guernsey over his corporate suit, grabbed the Pies emblem & was absolutely ecstatic. Luke Ball is committed to the Pies through & through, his integrity is beyond question.

My goodness. I thought the 'rumour' (kid - do you know the meaning of the word) was that he'd go back to the Aints in sympathy.

Luke Ball is a class act. He's now Collingwood through and through. Both of those facts make me so proud he's a Collingwood player.

Yes, as a previous poster said, it's called class.

2 MORE MOMENTS TO PONDER - to verify if luke ball is committed to the pies or not - as if they were needed.

taking a swing or 2 at riewoldt during the 3rd qtr (from memory)

look at him just after receiving his medal - still on stage - walks away clutching it very tight and read his lips - "YESSSSSSSSSSSSS"

didnt want to woop it up in front of the saints - but once out of view..................................

I have to echo what some of the others have said, it just goes to show you how much class Ball actually has. It doesn't mean that his heart is not with Collingwood, it shows that he has empathy towards his old team mates, which is not a bad thing. In-fact, I'd say it is a great thing, it shows that he is a person of great character. He is someone who I am enormously proud of to have on our team! :)

The cheer he got when he won his premiership medallion, and then when he was announced at AAMI Park, was incredible. Pies supporters love Bally!
