What's the word on this guy?

He was in and out of the Box Hill seniors all year. A top 10 draft pick last year. What's he going to amount to?

If Hawthorn could turn back the clock, would they select differently?

He's a development player so there's no real word on him after only one year of development.

David Loates has been developing for the last 5 years so I would imagine that Luke has maybe another year or even two before he would be expected to play senior AFL.

Luke Brennan used to play for North Ballarat Rebels.

I think he is still contracted..... Not sure though.

As for David Loats, I think that he will be traded to the Kangaroos for Brady Rawlings.

Loats for Brady Rawlings - sorry, does everyone else think that is hilarious..? It would surely put a spanner in the works for Jade's plans of playing with his brother.. Oh, how sweet.. *sarcasm*

As for Luke Brennan, as was pointed out earlier, he was picked up in last year's draft, which automatically means that he has one more year of his contract (draft picks are always contracted for an initial period of two years - i think..).

While on the topic of young players, I reckon the Hawks jump on board in trying to secure Paul Koulouriotis - who? I hear you all ask.. He was picked up at pick 8 by the Power 3 or 4 years ago. A Melbourne boy, he was unable to crack into an arguably strong Power outfit, managing only three games. He's been delisted by the POwer, and is seeking a home in Hawthorn.

For those of you that often claim to be 'inside' the club, I suggest the Club actively pursue him. Just a thought anyway.. Any thoughts on this?

Paul Koulouriotis was selected at pick 12 in the 1999 National Draft (Port's first pick). He checks in at around 184cm/83-85kg (depending on where you look).
He has great skills and an amazing talent for finding space, and spent most of the year with West in the SANFL in the centre, wth notable cameos in the forward pocket and on the half back flank. Drafted primarily as a wingman, he's obviously versatile, and performs well anywhere. Having being in West Adelaide's best for most of the 2003 season he is a frontrunner for tonight's Hamra Medal, and has been improving all year...
Mark Williams at the end of last season was quoted to have said he'd be in the Power's 22 if he could get over his injury troubles, and since he's remained virtually injury free for two seasons (a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury in '02 and a shoulder injury from a match incident last in '03, made it back for the preliminary final and proved the difference) it's a small wonder he wasn't given a run with the Power.
He has asked to be traded back to Melbourne and especially for any team looking for a midfielder/backup forward would be a great option and would slot straight into the starting 18.

Luke a player for the Box Hill Hawks and used to play for the North Ballarat Rebels.

At 185cm he's a good KPP. He's still got a fair way to go (kicking, ferocity, etc) but don't be surprised if he gets an AFL game next year.

Next year will be a huge year for him as it will most likely decide whether he really wants the chance to play for the Hawks or not. He received limited game time this year so be on the lookout for him next year.

Sorry Daniel, but Brennan played for the Rebels last year. Polled well in their best and fairest, with Adam Fisher (I think) winning the award.

Believe me, I know.:)

He is a classic 'tweener', to small to make it as a KPP and might not be quick enough to play on the flank. Good kid but pick 10 was way too early to draft him.

I don't know about 'too' early, but this year hasn't been his best. He played some great footy last year for the rebels and dropped off due to injury.

I suppose he's not a KPP or a midfielder, but he should be playing the forward line, not the backline.
