Roast Luke Dahlhaus

When is the last time the MC dropped anyone for bad form

Technically they listed Constable as omitted after the Lions match, while Jenkins & Zuth were omitted after round 1

Atkins omitted last year come finals

lol get real not talking about dropping the trash

technically, when a player is omitted it's on the back of poor performances - you don't normally omit a top 10 players who's been killing it in games

He needs a spell in the midfield. Give him some touches . Or VFL for a few weeks. Could be last chance this week if he survives the axe!
His shot from 45 out was telling. It was worse than normal imo. Looks like he might have some quad/osteo-pubitis/adductor issues. No power in his kick, and he kicked Miers style across the body.

Any other young player would offer more. He's done.

Certainly appears that way...his "effort" on goal last week was very poor. Looks like an OP victim...no drive through the footy and struggled to kick 40 metres.

I can't see continually playing him will help him recover. He's brave and commits but thats not enough at this level.

He was battling a groin issue over summer and receiving treatment from the specialist as Dangerfield

Got to be questions if he's 100% at the moment, just wonder if being down more than a few options early in the season if the MC felt he'd still offer a bit more until other options became available

Perhaps 09...given Luke's present form, I would have thought Narkle would offer at least a similar output, and potentially significantly more.

It will be interesting to see if he's picked this week...must be line ball at best.

Brad's got to be Close.....

I'll see myself out

Agree with the bold, thinking someone like Close could be getting a call up as long as he's ticking off the boxes in his recovery from his own injury battles

The first time we saw from both Dahlhaus & Narkle this year was our first VFL practice match - we know Dahlhaus was restricted over summer, but do we know why we didn't see Narkle in either of our senior hitouts and that was also his first outing?

Narkle was BOG that match while Dahlhaus also named in the bests and we know which one was ultimately selected to play.

Narkle was named as an emergency the first couple of rounds, but he didn't feature in the bests for the 2 practise matches that were played over those couple of weekends, and then lost his spot as an emergency this week. So was Narkle dealing with his own injury issues over summer and still getting back to match fitness, maybe been asked to find consistency at the lower level or is he just out of favour?

Yes...perhaps Close will be a better option now that he's apparently over his injury issues.

Watching at the ground I thought Dahlhaus was much better than people give him credit for. His ability to follow up with second and third efforts to pressure opponents is as good as anyone on the team and he's very good at being clean with his hands under pressure and getting a handball out to a spare man as he's being tackled. I'm not sure if he's physically right and his kicking seems to lack penetration at the moment but I'd be very surprised if we dropped him based on that performance. I wouldn't be surprised if the plan is to give him a month off to get his body right once we get some other players back but Evans and Higgins getting injured doesn't help that plan.

His pressure, movement patterns and understanding of the game plan is whats keeping him in the team. I think we are short changing ourselves playing him over Narkle, but given the stodgy/defensive/possesion game we are playing right now structure is super important.

It’s actually sad watching this bloke running around. He was run off his feet by old man Jones in the last quarter. And countless times was embarrassed when his direct opponent just ran off him. Chris Scott needs to save Dahlhaus the embarrassment and just play him in the VFL. Still under contract for next year as well.

The Magoos to get form, fitness and footing underneath him as he can't keep his under him

GO Catters

No form and carrying an injury...why the hell are they still playing him?
Strong Jack Stevens vibes - which hopefully means he won't play next week, because there is no way they can justify picking him ahead of Close.
