The thing with Darcy is, it's not just Richmond supporters that can't stand him. Pretty much despised all round by everyone for his smug attitude, his cliche-driven agenda and his lack of anything remotely original or insightful.
For all the crap that Lloyd cops, he's actually not too bad once you get over the fact who he played for.
Worst commenator is Brian Taylor without a doubt. If you want a reall anti-Richmond agenda, look nofurther. Also, he makes the most mistakes of any commentator. Gets players names wrong, mixes players up, harps on about umpiring decisions more than the game (and then gets proven wrong 99% of the time with the replay anyway), is condescending towards his fellow commentators (did anyone see the way he treated Richo when poor old Richo was trying to explain the tall goalposts thing?) and treats viewers like idiots by trying to pretend teams that are 50 points down in the last quarter still have a chance of winning. The guy is a cretin and a boofhead. Why is he actually popular or have people started to actually see this idiot for what he is?
Gerard Healy knows his stuff, but unfortunately his delivery is so arrogant, it gets lost in transit.
Tony Shaw seemingly has the IQ of a gnat. You want cliches and stereotypes because a commentator is too dumb to form an opinion for himself? Look no further than this complete tool.
Dwayne Russell is a dickbag.
Tim Watson is a clueless fool, whose knowledge extends as far as AFL (and even then he makes stuff up) and has no clue about any other sport in the world and actually treats every other sport like it is inferior (hey, you're SPORTS presenter idiot). Andrew Maher is a douche. Turned off SEN between 6am and 9am two years ago because of these two twats.
For all the bagging Eddie McGuire gets, he's actually not that bad a commentator. I enjoy his work. I just hate him when he wears the Collingwood president's hat.
For all the bagging Robbo cops, he's a big larrikin like any of us. I love his passion for the game and how it translates into 'you and I' speak. He's a just a passionate footy fan and doesn't try to hide it.
I know all of these people aren't match-day commentators by the way. Mark Stevens' deadpan mono-syllable voice turns me off. Just how many Bulldogs' articles can you write Mark without it at least looking like you don't realise there are 17 other clubs in the comp? You can't take the Shepp out of the boy. Stevo played a grand total of 10 games of footy in his life, all for Shepp High and he was absolutely hopeless to the point of being scared. I know you don't have to have played footy at a high level to have a valid opinion, but...
