"Luke away, Crows fans" report in the Sunday Mail today says Luke Edwards is no certainty to be a father-son option next year.

Dad Tyson is still upset at Jackson's delisting and said on SEN "They've got that father-son academy program running and Jackson did get involved in that a little bit. But we are not going down that path with Luke this time around to be honest. We'd like to keep his options open at the moment and just see". He said that Luke has told other clubs he is open to leaving SA in the open draft.

Even given Tyson's bitterness to his old club and that the report is by renowned Crow-hater Dwayne Russell, it doesn't look great. No official comment from Luke himself yet.

What that attitude, perhaps they should both **** off?

Yeh, given how brilliant we are at absolutely everything, it would definitely be them and not us. This really shouldn’t surprise anyone, we’re a sh*tstain of an organisation and it’s no wonder we are able to put people off.

Hey, we suck, but let's not forget Tyson's career end - both sides ****ed it up, and this club doesn't need more insiders making grandiose claims etc.

Doesn't look like Jackson had anything to write home about yesterday playing in what is basically the ammos against the bottom team Albion [the easybeats]

Is that Adam Cooney?

Is he any good though?
Supposed to be the best of the brothers, which may not be saying much considering where Jackson is, but he was predicted to be 1st or 2nd rounder. Considering how much the family hate the club, I won't be surprised if he doesn't elect to go father/son. I reckon if there was a high risk of ending up in WA or QLD, he might stay.

Firing on all cylinders

Surely we could at least have maintained a cordial relationship with a 300 game champion of our club
That might be a tad difficult the way this bloke has carried on about his retirement under Craig, the bullshit that went on over the Lleyton Hewitt episode and now his carry on over his sons' football careers. Comes across as just a bit "entitled" don't you think?

Is that when Craig forgot that he had cancer?

I might be the only Crows fan that doesn't know the ins and outs of the Hewitt saga. Wasn't it the wives though?

Surely a two year rookie deal for his kid was a reasonable minimum with some basic effort at helping him become a good footballer.

Tyson Edwards = David Cloke

Cloke absolutely ****** over Cameron and Jason's football careers and didn't do much to help Travis' either.

A decent parent would at least let a more objective person act as agent for their kid. That said, Travis cashed in pretty well and the other 2 weren’t really much chop at all.

You're entitled to your opinion, and you can believe Jackson wasn't given a fair go if that suits you, again I don't share that view. If Jackson was such a hot prospect explain why not one other club recruiter saw enough in him to draft him in the National draft bearing in mind 78 players were taken. Do you think any other club would have taken him in the rookie draft given he was the last player taken?

We chose to take him

If we didn't think he was good enough, fine

Stringing him along with false hope for 12 months with nothing more than a token effort to coach him does nothing for anyone. Waste of time for all parties and whatever relationship we had now destroyed.

Either commit or don't.

Looks like the recruiters didn't want to pick him in the first place. The club didn't want the bad PR of overlooking a FS prospect. So they compromised at one year.

So we were in a no-win situation - not pick Jackson in the first place and Edwards Snr has a hissy fit we didn't think his sons good enough for us, gives us the finger and we end up here anyhow. At least having given Jackson a go, we can say tried it and didn't work.

Agree but from a purely player personel perspective it would be a crying shame to miss out on luke if he is a top end talent all over hubris between his dad and the club. Topline father son prospects don't come around all that often

No he doesn't. Because all clubs overlook him.

As long as we were honest all along

Jackson was drafted on name only, and given the boot because we realised he was no good.

You haven't heard any whinging coming from the Jarman family.
