Luke Hodge set to backflip on retirement and return to footy with the Gold Coast Suns as a player/coach.

LUKE Hodge is “seriously considering” playing for the Gold Coast Suns in 2018, according to reports on SEN radio.
Sam McLure reported on Monday morning that the four-time premiership player has been approached by Suns chief Mark Evans, who shares a strong relationship with Hodge from his time at the Hawks.

Hodge was widely tipped to enter the media in 2018 and even run the New York Marathon later this year, but a playing/coaching role on the Gold Coast would see him come out of retirement just months after calling it quits with Hawthorn.

Hodge played 305 games for the Hawks after he was selected with pick one in the 2001 ‘super draft.’

He announced his retirement in early July.

Boy oh boy!

Well Hodge has responded and has said the rumours of him being approached by Evans to come to the Gold Coast were false. Think he will be in the media in 2018 rather than playing for a year and then going into coaching.
