Serious question: Did you watch today's game?

No. I've watched every game Rioli, Franklin and Hodge have ever played for Hawthorn.

Rioli is the most talented footballer at the club.

Hodge is the best.

Franklin on his day is unstoppable, but he lacks the talent and class of the other two.

Are you trolling your own team? If you think Franklin is behind Rioli at this specific point in time, you are hitting the bong too hard.

Lol. Go look up Hodges 30+ posie games in 05... You just started watching football last year?

He averaged 27.7 touches a game in 05, more than he is currently averaging this year. You just tell lies and make ill-informed statements. Please stop trolling Hawthorn threads

you can't measure a players ability by possession counts alone

hodge was a very good player in 05/06

judd was the best, hodge was a long way behind

was this 05/06?
Correct, now do yourself a favour and go back and watch before you make any further statement about how this is the first time he's played as mid.

The 2005 game against WB with 13 clearances is a lesson in ELITE football.

if you want a hawks love in go back to the hawthorn board

Actually, halfwit, this thread was started by a Collingwood supporter, and most posts praising Hodge have been from opposition supporters.

Of course, there is the occasional need for a bitter halfwit to chime in, and that's where you come in...

apparantly, was better then what Judd was last night so that now makes him a better footballer then him
Don't mention that Judd had 30 touches and 15 CP against Adelaide in his first game this year.

And backed it up with 37 touches and 18 CP against the Pies.

Judd has had averaged more first possessions, goals, CP, inside fifties and clearances than Hodge.

Hawthorn fans need to get over comparing the two to justify their selection of Hodge.

I don't give a stuff what Selwood, Rioli and Rich do.

Gibbs, Kreuzer and Yarran are still guns.

hahahah, Rioli better than Franklin?

Have you Hawk fans forgotten how ****ing good Franklin is? Second best player in the game behind Ablett. 100 goals in a good year, nearly 80 in a "poor" year. Compared to a flashy inconsistent half forward. For christs sake, Frankin is 50 times the player Rioli is.

He speak's only for himself and no other Hawk supporter.

Hodge and Franklin are the top players for us followed by Mitchell, Burgoyne, Sewell Roughead and Rioli.

Regardless of comparisons with other players, Hodge is simply a great player to watch. He seems to have plenty of time, is great in an under or in the air and has the best kicking action of any player around.

There's very little he can't do.

please don't twist my words, i said hodge has never played in the midfield AT AN ELITE LEVEL before this year, which is true

as i said, he was very good in 05, but judd/ablett are much better than very good

he has played at his current level for half a season, if he can continue this form he can be rated up there with the best, because countless players have played amazing half seasons

Or the game against the Doggies where he bagged 6, and gave off 2 absolute gimmies to others.

Hodge has shown this kind of form before, then struggled with injuries and had been used as a stop-gap all over the field.

judd is a seriously crap kick, collingwood just let him get the ball coz they know he is just going to turn it back over

Prioir to this round he was still paying $14-17 for the Brownlow, considering his form that is really worth a punt. Wonder if it will drop after todays game. I think he is certainly good for at least 2 votes today.
absolute shoe in for 3 votes, 30+ possessions and 3 goals and several clearances. Cant ask for much more than that.

No it's not.

And I've already told you why.

It seems ignorance is bliss.

Quality sledge :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Hodge is in phenomenal form of late. He's probably the best performing player in the competition at present but when comparing him to Judd/Ablett you must remember that he's had nowhere near the consistency they've had. Ablett's been in the competition's best 3 for 3 and a half years now, whereas Judd has been consistently top 5 since 2004, bar 2007.

Yep, Malthouse gave him 3 of 5 votes in a team that got smashed because he turned it over.

I would say he is (c) form atm :)

Interesting proposition. In the hypothetical his next three months is like his last one, would the AA selectors do it? Best player in the league, best leader....should be almost automatic, yet he isn't captain of his own club side?

He's gone past Bartel thats for sure, Judd isn't in the top 10 after friday nights disaster.

I hope so, they often name players in positions they don't usually play so I would assume they may do the same for a captin position....I hope:)

Hodge is in career best form.
This year he is predominantly a midfielder, though he still spends more time out of the centre than Judd/Ablett.

All are good players, great to see Hodge put games together without carrying any injuries.
