isdonis.george said:Only saw Mitchell and Dare after ¾ time in the thirds. Mitchell was solid more than spectacular but IMO is already looking more like Dawes than Hartlett. The ball didn't go into our forward line very often due to our seriously outpointed midfield and delivery was not very good. A 50 metre chase followed by a very solid tackle a few minutes later were a sight to see given that he looked to be tiring at the end of the match as you'd expect, and he's working his way back after serious injuries. Mitchell's body language after the siren told me that supporters will not be disappointed.
BTW it was good to see Austin getting a bit physical.
Luke Mitchell has been placed on the long term injury list.

Tuohy's elevation from the rookie list came at the expense of tall forward Luke Mitchell, who had the misfortune of having undergo a second operation on his left shoulder earlier in the week.
"If he was going to continue to play, he was going to do it with some instability in his shoulder and we just wanted to make sure that his long-term welfare was looked after first and foremost," Icke said of the decision to send the youngster in for more surgery.
"He rehabbed from [the first operation in the pre-season] to the point where he was able to play a couple of games with the Bullants, but it wasn't stable enough for him to gain enough confidence to continue on.
"Given that he's a big marking forward who really needs confidence to play the game well, we just thought it was in his best interests to have the operation now so that he can get himself absolutely 100 per cent right and really attack a pre-season."
Any news on what he actually did and the severity of the injury?
Any further news after Luke's surgery?
Thanks Cloudy!Mr. Tame Impala, he is up and about and doing light training and running from what I've been told.
He'll be fine to launch into the pre-season.
Im interested in an update on his height and weight?
Anyone?

First step complete. Anyone have any reports on how he played?
Carlton's next wave of talent impresses in the VFLHyde said key forward Luke Mitchell, who has endured a wretched run with shoulder injuries, would be a chance to slot into Ratten’s side in 2013 if he could stay on the track next pre-season.
“He’s going to take some time but the more he plays and if he can stay injury-free for the rest of 2012 and have a super pre-season, then he’s going to be quite exciting,” Hyde said.
Have been hearing good things about Mitchell for the few weeks on these boards and was starting to get excited but was talking to my brothers mate yesterday (who plays for Bendigo) He was telling me that he rekons that Mitchell gets beaten by his opponent 2 out of 3 weeks and that he is miles off. i havent seen much VFL for a couple of years so wondering if there's any truth to this? thanks!
Mitchell performed ok against the saints......well down on fitness. That's been pretty much the case, but that's no reason for concern.
Mitchell is coming from a long way back and is being eased into the system now.
If he has as good a pre-season as the last one, we'll all be talking about him again.
