TBH if Bower ad White are fit all year I would be tempted to leave the back 6 and give the boys all a development year unless one of them start banging down the door with good performances at the Ants.

It now feels like we are waiting for them to develop into the final piece of the puzzle!

I agree... play them in the Ants all year. Give them to Cordy for the year as well and give them an accelerated fitness training program to get them a reasonable tank for 2012 and then crank it up some more in next years pre-season.

Put Casboult on the same program so that in 2012, we have all 4 of them fighting for a spot in the team.

like in star wars. A New Hope has arrived, i cant wait for next year. he's already my fav player and will get 25 on my back once again. 25 is gonna fly again, in the right hands. all luke needs is a nickname, any ideas!:D

Hands

As in Cool Hands Luke

And I would prefer that he got Jezza's version of the famous #25.

Impressed with this guy's demeanor. He's a smart footballer with a good thoughtful understanding of the game. He's a lot more advanced than some of the other KP players we've drafting over the years. From what I've read, it seems endurance is the huge area he needs to work on. Quality CHF types need a huge engine, so they can grind their defender into the ground with relentless leading. This might mean he plays closer to goal initially. Strength wise, he's not too far off AFL standard already. That's a huge plus. Seems to have a very clean pair of hands. Didn't see many double grabs in the highlights. So his timing is naturally good. Looking forward to his debut.

:)

Someone hold blueblood25 down...

I'm generally against pumping up new draftees, but jeez he is impressive, both in his interview and his highlights.

Very much looking forward to following this young guy.

Happy to say I'm very pleased with how we drafted this year, absolutely stoked actually.

Will be interesting to see when he makes his debut. He's not too far off AFL level KP forward size already. He might get a run once Kruezer goes back to fulltime ruck latter in the season. He'll be competing with Levi and maybe even Hammer for that 3rd tall forward spot.

:)

Yeah, good point. He might think he needs to emulate our most recent 25's off field behavior.

It's a shame No.4 wasn't an option. .. Gibbsy would look good in No.5 too ;)

Can those who know what they are talking speculate as to where he wouldn't have gone had he not got injured and his form had been reasonable?
Bit of a hard thing to say for sure when Conca goes at 6 and McCarthy falls to 34 but he was one of the ones being talked up on draft watch and school footy threads over the last few years.

I'm curious as to why a lot of people here seem to be designating Mitchell as our CHF? With his height and strength, I would have thought he would be more useful in the square/inside the 30 meter area. Add to that the fact that he apparently doesn't have a big tank, which I think Henderson is developing, and I see Mitchel being more suited to FF than CHF.

Agree with this and i'm sure the club does aswell. Hendo has shown alot of improvement at CHF throughout the season and i'm sure they wouldn't want to take him away from that position if he continues on his path of improvement next year. If Mitchell can well and truly stand up at FF the club won't be hesitating bringing back Waite to the wing or backline...imagine how much stronger our backline would be with Waite back there?

Before the draft, I was hoping that we could play Kreuzer at FF and move Waite to CHB. However we now have Watson, but I could see Waite playing at CHB and giving Watson some time to develop.
