Except he's had the injury for well over a week now so they would know what it is and if it had been a slight strain there is no way in hell it would still be in a sling. Pretty obvious you know very little about shoulder injuries and are only guessing here.I guess it depends on what you class as a slight strain, its not that simple. .. Just because its not standard procedure for joe average doesn't mean its not a viable solution in the case of an elite sportsman. .. Simple fact is that any level of injury can benefit from immobilisation and rest at appropriate times. ..
Edit: They could even be waiting for results of a scan and treating it as worse case. .. but that wouldn't change my initial premise that slings can be used for minor injuries. ..
