So let me get this straight.

Parker has played in 17 finals including 1 p'ship & is still going.
Rohan has played in 15 finals & is still going.

Buckley has played in 10 finals.

What a sad response.

Rohan's performances in finals has absolutely zero to do with Buckley.

It's actually embarrassing that you would respond to my post with this shit.

Well he's not a huge posession winner at the best of times, but yeah his final performances have been awful. That said he's not a particularly good player, and it's not like he hasn't been criticised for failing to turn up in big games.

Parker is more interesting. His finals performances haven't been on the whole terrible, but he has gone missing when we need him the most. Could just be a coincidence but it's happened far too much for it to not be an issue. Hate to say it but it's a sign of mental weakness across the board.

Odd that he's largely been criticism free in the general public when Hannebery has gotten some criticism for his performances in big games, and the latter at least has 2012 to hold his hat on....

Sydney are a mentally soft outfit across the board. They were useless in 2014, it'd have been a better showing if North had beaten them in the preliminary final. 2016 was a disaster. A flag gone wanting. The WB should never have won, the Swans just capitulated. Best side all year, had their chances, and just didn't have anyone prepared to deliver a killer punch.

Last night didn't surprise me, the margin did though. Geelong are a very good side. Swans have their chances like everyone next year though, but I'd probably be looking at some of their players very closely as they do buckle under pressure.

Pretty harsh pointing to an individual player... the team as a whole is capable of some terrifyingly good football and in my opinion displayed some of the best football we've seen this season after round 7....

The team just seems to keep having their "off days" when it matters and in finals.... 2014 GF, 2016 GF and now 2017 QF.
Too many people go missing and wait for someone else to inspire them to lift.
Great when things are going their way, Very very bad if things aren't following their script.... They need to be able to adapt their game style going forward if they are to take the next step. They almost seemed complacent going in again and almost like they have been drinking their own bathwater.... Every time they are leading into a finals match they are touted to win by a large margin the opposite ends up occurring.

It's a team issue, not a Parker issue... many players went missing yesterday... Kennedy (way down on normal output/influence), Rohan, Sinclair, Smith, Papley, Towers, Cunningham, Rampe (well and truly beaten)...

Geelong deserved the victory last night.
I'd probably also identify another issue. Sydney were a 6th best side against the 2nd best side coming off an embarrassing week one of finals. It's not uncommon for a QF loser to flog an EF winner.

Oh I wasn't trying to take away from Buckley's career in any way trust me.
Buckley did that all by himself when he forfeited his right to a three peat but Parker is a much respected member of the Swans & your club would kill for a player of his quality but you'll just have to make do with Buckley's patchwork quilt.

We just don't really know how any one of your players perform in finals, is all I will add, so you can hide behind that statistic proudly & think twice before you try to bring down one of our hardest players in the team with this crap.

Mate, even now, after his calamitous coaching stint, Buckley commands ten-folds the respect Parker does.

When the chips are down, when the midfield is being beaten, players like Parker and Hannebery cannot be relied upon to stand up as they almost never do. It always comes down to Kennedy.
I seem to remember Hannebery playing in the centre more in previous years. Seems to play predominantly wing these days.

Although that is true i'd argue that Sydney are a better side/playing a lot better than a lot of teams that have finished 6th in previous seasons.
