Draft Profile Luke Parker

There has been a bit of discussion on this kid, and rightly so he is right up their with the best prospects from this draft.

He is a goal kicking midfielder with super skills. His kicking is in the top bracket of players, but not at an elite level, still very good and will hit most targets with reasonable penetration. His inside work is very good he is balanced, strong through the core and hard to bring down, easily gets his arms free and can give off the handball. Also has the ability to go forward and take a strong mark, knows where the goals are, kicked 38 in TAC cup last year. One of the top prospects this year capable fo going top 5 IMO, but is in the Ablett type of midfielders without perhaps the elite pace but similar style.

What are your thoughts on him?

As you said, very good disposal, but not quite elite. Doesn't have blistering pace, but isn't slow. Gets it both inside and outside and is very dangerous forward.

Will be in the mix with the top mids discussed in round 1 I'd think.

Yeah me too. It's a shame we won't gwt him though Dam GC there was so much talent in this draft! I really would like to see the Lions trade for an early pick and get a gun mid or a gun tall!

His immediate looks remind me of Rich, though they're a bit different.

i'd say we'd go with parker actually. i hope so anyway. seems more like a hardwick type of midfielder compared to gaff.

All I know is we will get a very very good player at 4 regardless of who we take

thought the same pykie, i personally dont think he is worthy of a top 10 pick, but id expect him to be gone by 20.

I think he is going to be a very good in and under, hard at it player, that just doesn't stand out in any area to be a star. Just not quite what you are looking for in a top 10 pick. Would be stoked to trade for a pick around 15ish and nab him there.

this kids a gun. watched him today alot and this kid just never gives up, took a few nice marks , tackled hard , never stops running and has a bit of aggo about him, bombers should jump on him as he'd be perfect helping watson out
