I was hooked after some vision from match sim in his first preseason. Fingers crossed his body holds up, he looks strong as s**t in that photo.
Pedlar still has a way to go ....

Chisel doesn’t necessarily equate to power.
Doubt AFL Clubs / Players build physiques for looks .....these days, anyway

Those guys are overly shredded. The big biceps do little, not that Fyfe has them. Plus Fyfe looks to be doing an upper arm exercise, Peds was just mid handball.
Funny how they never look like that in season

They tend to lean up and not carry extra muscle or weight they don’t need

Some positive/promising news. Really keen to see this lad give it a good crack at AFL, hopefully with an uninterrupted season.

I remembered seeing Berry and Pedlar in a trial match back in 2021, and had some good vibes with both looking like capable players. Berry so far has done his part, now just waiting on Pedlar to pedalling his way into next gear.

This is such good news ! Let’s hope he stays fit for rest of pre season

Huge chance to play round 1 , just too many good reports to ignore

The bash brothers need to be allowed to bash... Given Pedlar came from the mcasey trade-down pick it is imperative he becomes A grade.... he should just be played every week until it clicks at this level. he clearly has the weapons as demonstrated in that sanfl final.

also bigger than people might realise. this is not jones/mchenry/gallucci/taylor type. and he is a mid that goes forward not the other way around IMHO

I remember that term “bash brothers”. Pity in the last couple of years it’s mainly been just the “bash brother”. Pedlar seems a different class of midfield, and one we really need to give him a good crack at it. He seems like a very natural midfielder to me and his potential could reach up to a Laird/Sloane or maybe even more.

The thing I 1st noticed about Pedlar is he is always on the move at stoppages.

Would like to see the bash brothers have some quality midfield time together.

I remember watching that horrible YouTube stream, where they completely screwed up the frame rates, of Possibles vs Probables. I remember Pedlar ripping our incumbent midfielders a new one, and thinking this kid has a massive future ahead of him.

... fast forward 2 years, and his lack of durability has limited him to just a handful of AFL games.

I really hope that 2023 is the year he can finally get his body right, and we can see what he's really capable of - because the potential he showed in that early trial game was enormous.

Is it really durability or perhaps it's the bat-out-of-hell way he plays that he gets more injuries than he ought to?

I hope he learns to (or someone gets him to) play in a more self-protective way.

I remember that too. I also remember one AFL game where I think he came on as sub: at one FF throw-up near the boundary line he attacked the clearance at pace and drilled the goal. That was brilliant, but he did nothing at all after that. I reckon he's going to be an impact player a la Toby Greene. He should take a lot of forward clearances but not be earmarked as a fulltime inside mid at centre clearances. HF for him, mainly.

Even with his injury concerns he still managed to play 28 games last season (25 SANFL games & 3 AFL games).

It's not like he's coming off a Crouch bros full season wipe out. Have high hopes for this year.
Yes it's now more a question of him building his tank up than injury issues touch wood.

Given the pre-season he is having, all good to go as a forward who can pinch-hit in the middle... moreso as the year goes on.

He only played 14 SANFL games and 3 AFL games in 2022.

He played 11 SANFL games and 3 AFL games in 2021.
