Luke Rounds #14
D.O.B: 10-2-91, Height: 181, Weight: 75.
Games: 5 Goals: 1
Drafted - 2008 with Pick 46 from Geelong Falcons
Season 2011:
Luke made his debut in Round 15 2011, in the 41 pt win over the Hawks, and played 5 games for the year.
Was used off HBF and had a couple of games as a tagger where he showed pretty good awareness and concentration.
Ave disposals : 9.6
Ave marks : 1.4
Ave tackles : 2.2
His best game statistically was against the hapless Port Adelaide Round 20 at Football Park, where he had 14 possessions, & tackles and kicked his only goal ( which puts him at 776th on the all time Collingwood goal kicking list!)
2012 expectations:
Important year for Luke Rounds this year, and sadly, it hasn't started well for him with an injury.
He is a solid bodied, tough and talented player with an excellent kick.
The listed weight was some time ago, and he'd be a lot closer to 83 kgs now than 75 kgs, as an estimate.
Really could play forward or back, or his role as a tagger could be expanded.
A lot will depend on how he recovers from the latest injury setback and the coaches attitude to his potential role in the team.
Malthouse was not into tagging opposition stars, and it remains to be seen what Buckley's position will be here.
He goes into the 2012 season with many fans hoping he really takes the next step and establishes himself in the team.
