Strong correlation between Ryan and Fremantle playing well. Most important player in our backline. Top 5 most important on the ground for us. And only in his 2nd year! Lock in him and his best mate Cox for the next decade please.

I see where you are coming from, but that Pearce, Hamling & Wilson go ok.

Cox & Mundy are cut from the same cloth, so laconic and never "seem" to get out of first gear. I don't like it, I love it.

And it wasn’t like we were being dominated before the injuries to Gray and Ryder.

True but you expect players of that quality would eventually make an impact (like Fyfe and Sandilands). Those two being out helped massively with our win without taking away the credit for the pressure we were applying.

I agree that those two likely make a difference but that is a what if and if we are going down that path, what if we kick 7-0 instead of 0-7 in the 2nd? Game would have been over.

We were better on balance and deserved the win.

Yes, no doubt it would have been a different contest at the end but who knows, in that speculative version of an infinite game, Dave Mundy’s last kick of the game could have been to win it. He probably still wouldn’t make the distance.

16 intercept possessions for the game, double the next highest (Neale). Can't find the record anywhere but he wouldn't be dlfar off with that efforr

Not bad for a second year player. House leader in more than a few stats this year & keeping some esteemed company amongst the team. His stats also stack up against the opposition in Howe, Hurn, Lloyd & Shaw and betters players like Sicily, Short, Tarrant & Laird.

The Vic centric media hasnt caught onto him yet. They still see Wilson as the major driver out of defense and Ryan rarely gets a mention when statistically his ahead in every area. Ryans a very underrated player!!!

I think they would have switched on at half time and rolled us in the second half. Even with our dominance forward of centre that quarter we hadn't gotten away, the talk would have been angry but to keep following the plan.

Freo are young, we will kick four goals in the fourth and walk it in over the top of them. Etc etc Seven goals up? Full steam ahead boys!

Nah disagree. Ken knew they were lucky to be in it so he would have blasted them at the half and they didn't respond.

They just couldn't get up on the day and our terrible kicking made it look respectable when it really wasn't.

Tim Kelly, gun. Great player respect he needs to be with his family.

Brutal business = is he worth a first rnd pick? Guarantee Hawks will pick Ryan over Kelly 99 out of 100. Eagles can pay Gaffs compo for him.

Ryan is always the first in,irrespective of opponent. Guy is a gun, ain’t gonna complain if he stays around 10 years.

With Hamling and Pearce out, Ryans game has been sacrificed and he's playing more of a lockdown role. Such a shame, because he is a star and we're missing his intercepts and rebound.
yeah, i get that for this game but the previous three games Logue and Cox played as our main two defenders. What's Ryan's excuse for those games. Even when not defending his distribution is off. He's having very little impact on the games.

He is starting on the fat side for a cross that is never coming

Ryan is a great intercept defender similar to McGovern or what Michael Johnson was. Not a lock down player. Needs to be freed up but that wont happen until Pearce or Hamling return.
