I think the poster meant that he was best on ground in terms of coaches votes in that game, which he was as he got 9.

I didnt watch the game but there seems to be a lot of differing opinions on who was our best with BF not rating Shuey much. AFL said it was Yeo.

I'm disagreeing with the coaches, what would they know right?
He's never polled that well, but the Norm might have put him on the map. Gaff could have stolen votes from both he and Yeo through sheer accumulation even though he was far from damaging early on.

That stuff is a yarn. Black and Akermanis won Brownlows. Judd and Cousins won Brownlows. Bartel and Ablett won Brownlows. Every good team has players that would take Brownlow votes off each other.

I absolutely hate this myth, players have been winning Brownlow for years with superstars next to them. Black,Voss,Ablett,judd, cousins, akermanis, Bartel all had superstars playing with them

That’s what I was thinking too. He’s big time now in the eyes of everyone not just us on this board. If anything I reckon that Shuey might be the vote stealer, not the other way around

I got on him after the crows game in round 10 when he was $101.
At $26 the value probably isn’t there anymore but I think he will surprise on brownlow night.
Had a few BOGs in some of our best wins this year (gws round 2, crows round 10, hawks round 15, freo round 16, blues round 20). Will probably poll in 2 or 3 more games as well

Superstar Vote Inflation
To clarify this point, 7 of the last 10 ‘winners’* have hit 30 votes. It was only done 3 times in Brownlow history previous to that.
