Consulting group Sayers Group will rebrand as Tenet Advisory & Investments as it attempts to draw a line under a lewd photo scandal involving its co-founder, Luke Sayers, in January.

In January, a photo of a penis was posted by Sayers’ X account. A senior staffer from Bupa, who helped manage the insurer’s three-year sponsorship deal with Carlton Football Club, was tagged in the post.

Sayers was president of Carlton at the time. He maintained throughout the scandal that he was hacked and an investigation by the AFL backed up his explanation.

Inclusion Foundation’s accounts show it posted a $510,000 loss last financial year, leaving it with just $173,000 in equity at June 30 — about four months’ worth at that rate of losses.

Sounds like quite a few stones were upturned here on this audit. Maybe Luke can hire Grant Thornton to find out who hacked his X-Account. The AFL investigation team might want to take notes, as opposed to pulling out that big broom from Laura Kane’s office that is used frequently

If you read the Klaxon article it paints a very clear picture of why the Charity has fallen on hard times.

I make no comment on Sayers’ or the Charity.

But in a past life, I once worked in that industry for a time. At its core wee people I used to term “hot workers” - very good relationship managers, totally morally bereft, but able to stay one step ahead of everything. There was a $$ in every relationship and every deal they did.

Everything is great until it is not and when the shit hits the fan, it’s a total disaster and usually a scapegoat is found and we go quiet for a bit then pop up and start again.

It would appear that the charity received a significant amount of funding from federal government grants in previous reporting periods that appeared to have dried up in the last three years. Whether or not this was directly related to the charity openly backing the former federal treasurer in the lead up to the 2022 election (which is against nfp charity rules) and which he subsequently lost his seat at that election, you can make up your own mind.

People in these circle only like backing winners, when the favours run out so do the $$$
