Won't believe until I see a screenshot of a text message.Heard on the grapevine that divorce proceedings are kicking off. Was just a copy paste message so take it with a grain of salt but would make a lot of sense

The way Hutchy and Damo were talking around the issue on today's episode of the Sounding Board seemed to confirm that the tweet came from someone, let's say, close to home.

I can't remember the exact quotes but they went pretty hard on the "personal matter" now, and that Sayers should have refrained from language around leaving no stone unturned given the circumstances of how it came to be posted. A lot of it was talking around it.Got any cliff notes?

Just listened to it. This is now the most likely scenario. The way Hutchy and Damo were talking around the issue on today's episode of the Sounding Board seemed to confirm that the tweet came from someone, let's say, close to home.

Boys club still protecting their own. A real journo would just break the actual story but they don’t want to piss off AFL HQ so just dancing around it by the sounds of things

Not really. This is not necessarily a matter in the public interest to report.
The public interest matter is the relationship with someone senior at a sponsor. No dispute from me and I have posted as much in this thread many times.President of a non profit that receives public funding either sends or has pictures of his junk sent via a public forum to a key contact from a major sponsor is definitely of public interest.
The AFL, Carlton and Sayers will try to tell you it’s not, but that’s just double standards especially when you compare it to similar incidents EG Tim Paine.
I mean he kind of made that part of it public interest when he publicly declared he’d been hacked and would leave no stone unturned to discover who had wronged himThe public interest matter is the relationship with someone senior at a sponsor. What is not public interest is the turbulence within his marriage, and the exact why and how someone close to him posted the image.
This is "in the public interest" vs "the public is interested".
I am anti-boys club as anyone. Not talking about who may have leaked the image is not an example of it though. And Hutch and Damo were very clear that Sayers had to step down.

Yes, that would be better.Personally I’m just sick of the spin from AFL house and clubs. Just tell it how it is and don’t treat fans that pump money into the game with so much contempt like we are idiots.
For me, this would all be so much better if the AFL or Carlton just came out and said it’s clearly not appropriate that X happened as opposed to an “investigation” that cleared him of any wrongdoing and then him “stepping down”.
Yes, that would be better.
