Should Headland be picked week in week out Gav?

Mate, Headland would have to caught snorting coke off Rick Hart's daughter's breasts on the boardroom table for Gav to even consider dropping Headland.

I think it was ironic that Headland had a worse game againt geelong than Webster, yet Webster got the arse and Headland just conitnued to cruise on his merry way.

Cook does not win the ball like a Hasleby for instance.

Webster would have played for Cook, but I suspect Cook got a game for indigenous round. You would expect Webster back in for Cook this weekend.

Cook also has an impact when he plays once every 3 or 4 weeks.

Cookie and Farmer are the leaders of the Brothers. Cookie was given the honour of tossing the coin at the start. If he was borderline, along with a couple of others, then he was always going to get the nod - he is held in such high esteem and viewed with such respect at our club. I am sure it would have been uncomfortable for them to maintain their hard-line with the Wiz this weekend. As far as Cookie goes, I have no problem with our club putting on its human face in situations like this and giving him a game in a week where Indigenous footballers are being celebrated. There are other clubs that wouldn't.

Definitely not. He should be picked on his merits like everyone else. I support
Solomon in the team by the way. I'm saying that you can't have those three players combined.

Well for a start I think you are wrong about the game against Geelong. Looking at the game on tv they had similar impact, backed up by their stats. Clearly the people who decide the team make up think that Headland's creativity as opposed to Webster's negating skills are more important to the team.

Then you come out with an ordinary comment like "continued to cruise on his merry way" when Headland had a good impact on the game, kicking a goal, and setting up others.

Inside 50's anyone? Top 10 in the league anyone? I think Des might go ok and delivery into our forward 50 is one of our major problems currently.

You can selectively look at any stats and make a claim for anyone.

I agree that he doesnt get it enough.I do believe he was a victim of the situation where they wanted to try Collard for crumbing, keep in kiwi,a fired up cook for jcarr and get peake, thorton in for some game time at home against a undermanned saints.Just wondering who he would of replaced if he played because I cant think of anyone.

And that sums it up. I meant to post that earlier but got distracted.

It will certainly be interesting if Des is out injured this week. I think a few people may be surprised at just how much we miss him.

It's impossible to measure though. If we lose this week we can't assume we would have won if Headland was fit regardless of the margin.

We won both games that Headland missed through suspension last year.

I thought Luke had been playing ok the past few weeks. Hopefully it was just matchups. If you think he is a so so player, we'll swap him for Wooden.

We wouldn't swap you an old piece of chewy from the bottom of our shoes for Wooden.

Webster will play when he deserves to and when the team balance indicates that he is required. The guy is not a star, he is a good hard worker, but that it all. If he was super quick (or probably even just quick) he'd be a shoe-in for a game every week, but he's not, so he fights it out with the rest of the plodders.

Oh, excuse me.

Royalist.... *sigh* you suck on so many levels... :p

Wooden is a nobody in your squad
Webster is there abouts and I believe soon to a regular, if not already when we have retirements.

Pffffttt

Id of replaced him for Matthew Carr, Collard, or Crowley. Reason he isnt getting THAT much of the ball is because he plays up forward and not in the midfield. Why isnt he given more of a chance in the midfield? Hes not slower then what is already in there and having him in their will lead to you getting more effective clearances I believe

So Embers, you think the big selection dilemma is whether to play Webster or M Carr (or Crowley or Collard)? Most people would select Crowley any day of the week, and he is much faster than Webster. Carr had a reasonable game, so struggling to see the rationalle for why not select Webster, especially given that in a run with role a different level of stamina is required to playing in a defensive role up forward. Collard was played simply to see what he can do at this stage of his career, and, once again, to add some pace. With

Solomon coming back in he already provides the defensive pressure up forward, so unless Webster has something else to offer he becomes a fringe player.

Well feel free to leave him out for a few weeks. It can only help the Mighty Royals.
