WON'T be a problem as I figure there will be far more teams finish below us on the ladder this year than in 2012, so he'll kick more goals!!!!
If more teams finish below us this year it'll most likely mean the likes of him are playing less games. QED.

8 years in and have a look at his pins.
Still debate about what his best position is.
Has always lacked composure under pressure and has not improved in this area.
A good mark and a decent set shot, relatively athletic and relatively durable, a poor user and decision maker with poor touch, an average tackler, an average undisciplined footballer.
A good bloke who is just not up to it.
Delist. Thanks for playing. Try the leg weights on your way out.
The end.

I don't disagree with much of this, but given the make-up of our list (talls etc.) and what he did produce in the last few riounds last year, I am not surprised to see him retained again.
I would be surprised if it goes into a ninth year, but the fact we offloaded, dare I say it, Post, ahead of Lukey spoke volumes.

Who is this 'Lukey' you speak of, and why are his parents posting on BF?

It wasnt upto us to keep or delist Post, My understanding is that he didnt want to stay and richmond football club didnt have a choice

With the amount of support he is getting from 2 people on this board you would have to believe that mum and dad are these 2 people - theres no way anybody that isnt related could support this bloke with what he has delivered so far

Everyone else must be neglected siblings

So you are suggesting it was Post's decision to continue playing at Altona??? Bizarre!

thats the word, he preferred to be playing footy with his mates

On McGuane, to be fair did Edwards do any better than him for that third tall spot?

I've been advocating Aaron all off season, but none of McGuane or Edwards did enough for me to think they are a lock for round 1. Still very open, and right now I'd probably put Jackson in that role (yes, Jackson)

I think McGuane did alot more than Edwards, and was in the same boat as you to a degree.

As it stands right now, McGuane will play rd 1. It's his spot to lose IMO.

I'd rather go with two talls and use a marking mid as the 3rd - Cotchin, Deledio, Martin all seem to contribute more than most of our 3rd tall options.

I'd agree with you there Morro. Also does A. Edwards have to be upgraded to play round one ? If so he has to beat out the other rookies as well as Luke and I don't see that at this stage either. But it is early days with probably enough time between now and rd1 for him to state his case.

Edwards is on the senior list.
Pettard, Lonergan and the Big O are the mature age rookies we have.

what i am suggesting is that after the 2nd round of list lodgements he was still a listed player and Mcguane wasnt offered a contract, they then had a meeting with Post and his managment where it was thrashed out and post made it known that he no longer wanted to play AFL football so was then delisted.
3 Afl clubs spoke to post about nominating for the Rookie draft (bulldogs,North,Stkilda) and he decided not to then went and agreed to play for Altona.

So to answer your question - YES

The chances are we will have both Chaplin & Grimes ready to play Rnd 1,
B: Grimes , Rance , Morris
HB: Houli , Chaplin , Batchelor

HF:Nahas,Griffiths,Knights
F: S.Edwards,Riewoldt,Vickery

Dont Want McGuane

I would upgrade Petterd TBH, no brainer who can play down back as well. That mark he took I think from Griggs kick leading from HF was telling. We just do not have enough players like that with enough ability. He has sufficient zip/experience and know how to provide confident options with his reasonably assured marking that he just needs to be selected TBH.

I look at that kick by JR to Jackson sideways from half forward/wing after a leading mark across the half forward line that we got a 50 from via a free kick and utimately a goal(lucky). Point is confidence on the option going forward demonstrated br JR was seriously lacking IMO

Looks great, but assumes Griff will be played as a forward - and it doesn't look like thats going to happen any time soon

Yes i would also agree , i just put it out there that i would much rather play 3 talls Jack,Tyrone,Griff than have McGuane fumbling the ball in our team.
Petterd,Astbury,O'Hanlon,Edwards,Elton all before 'Lukey'

Wasn't overly impressed with O'hanlons goal kicking either. Like to see that and his movement get tidied up. Thats why I think Petterd is looking as a superior option atm as well

O'Hanlon isnt anywhere near the finished product by any stretch but everytime he got the ball you could just see that there is that special something that makes you believe that with another 50-70 games under his belt he will really become a handful for other clubs and has the X factor about his movements that i like - We have to get players like Griffiths,O'Hanlon.Astbury,McDonough,Helbig to that magical 50 game mark
There is Zero benefit in pumping games into McGuane

not so sure about that, his apparent agility for his size worries me a little. Put it this way, he doesn't really laterally move like SJ regardless of all the rest SJ possesses. Hope I am wrong and maybe it is just a temporary body development thing. or I just can't see it atm. Moves a bit too up and down for my liking TBH atm IMO
