[quote="RoaringTiger, post: 27846454, member: 11949cguane is killing it at the.moment. good on him. He is free agent. Might leave us next year for 400k per annum 3 year contract :([/quote]

Possible, but if the money and offer are similar cant see him leaving RFC. But Im only guessing.

selective quote there mate !
15 goals from 9 games last year and 7 from 3 this year = 16 goals from 12 games
Surely McGun can kick 40-45 goals with having the crap 3rd defender playing on him if he plays all 22 games
Aaron Edwards
Josh kennedy
luke bruest
eddie betts
jack gunston
Michael walters
stephen Milne
lindsey thomas
All the above players averaged 2 goals a game last year,For a 3rd foward taking the average defender should be expected to average 2 goals

Strange list IMO
Josh Kennedy is WC main KPP forward when playing Darling (who did average over 2) or Big Q would be the third tall
Bruest is a small not a third tall as you should be comparing
betts is once again a small and carltons best forward
Walters is another small, Maine is a better comparison tho Freo lack a decent 2nd KPP
Milne is a small forward again
Thomas a small forward.

I know you wrote 3rd forward but you're comparing two different roles when looking at Mcguane and guys like betts , Milne and co as they get the best small defender.

Gunstan, Edwards and Darling are better comparisons. And yes they all averaged 2 goals a game, other similar players would be crameri (1.8), Maine (1.7), beau Wilkes or maister (1.5), Andrew Walker (1.1) or LRT (1.1)

Strange list IMO

Dead right there CM....
Fair call with "strange list"...but its all what the Mc_Gun haters/bashers have left...masquerading substerfuge facts as football knowledge...
Selectively leaving out the fact that Mc_GUN who has only just started playing forward after being played out of position defensively for over the past 8 years...
Mc_GUN something like 20 games played forward to Betts/Milnes....:p...
A fairer and more accurate list would be a comparison between "backs" who have been moved "forward" and then tally their goal scores...
What about a tally of tackles laid and marks taken and score assists as well just to be really accurate...a real strength of Mc_GUN's game...
When was the last time you saw Milne lay a match winning tackle in the dying seconds of a game to help seal a win......

I did say 3rd foward and the list was just to indicate that when you do have 3 fowards these are the type of output id be expecting.

Milne , Bruest, Thomas & Betts - sure they are different players but not the main targets (similar situation even though different types)

Gunston ,Edwards & Darling - are almost exactly the same role players

Lynch averaged 1.6 goals but i personally think that last year he was the number 1 foward whilst kennedy & Darling were similar 2nd 3rd options (probably due to age)

As i said many many times, Its lukes ability to perform against the better teams that will decide his future at RFC not his ability to kick goals against the weaker opposition

2 Goals 1 Behind today and looked better than Vickery to my eyes.

If Griff, or Todd, or even A. Edwards start banging the door down I don't think Lukey will be making room for them.

I gave him a vote!

A team this year will be completed exploited by McGuane and here's hoping it is Fremantle next week. He had a chance to kick a few against them last year but blew it. This year he is 10 times the player he was last year I can see him dominating along with Jack who seems like he is about to explode.

Funnily, or sadly, enough - McGuane will probably have a lot of interest come the end of the year now, the same thing a lot of people wanted last year but will completely regret if it happens this year.

He knows he's in a good place, not going anywhere.

Just watched Moneyball..... Luke is the Moneyball player....

One of my favourite movies. And yes, he is the moneyball player. We can't afford to lose him though clubs will be making offers left right centre.

The commentators are saying he's the most kicked to player in our forward line.
Would that be a team / structure decision or just the fact that he leads? Or goes under the radar etc.
Just surprised when they said this always naturally thought it would Jack.

Presents and holds onto them. Vik is still working on it

Contrary to many peoples belief's McGuane is actually having a worse year than 2012 even though he has been played through more in 2013 and Richmond having a better year.

Lukey what happened?
Like most of us here, was also not rated by other teams until the last few weeks. As has been stated, has been our #1 go to target in the F50.
More work being put into him by defences & he has hit a brick wall.... (probably got jinxed by guesting on talking Tigers 2 or 3 weeks ago)

Could not get near it yesterday.

I'd been talking him up too :) He will bounce back!!!

1 bad game against a shit side. He is needed against Essendon and the subs vest was just a reminder he has to work his ass off to keep his place. Look for a big dreamtime game!
