I hear that Calivil are still trying to pull off some last minute recruiting before round one this weekend, running a fine line with clearances etc. one would of thought. Any other clubs doing the same? Trying to top up the list for the season ahead

6 goals to bennett, I didn't realise you could play big fella! Who will be first to 100 goals, Bennett or Collins????? Can't believe neither of these guys figure in Bush Coleman markets.
Doesn't say much for the standard of the Loddon Valley then, he was playing reserves for Mount Pleasant a few seasons ago when Mt.P seniors where struggles to win a game.
Did Bennetts opponent have a walking stick or seeing eye dog?

Long time retired , but when I did play I was a backman & a bloody good one too.
Congrats to Bennett for kicking a bag, might be different next week if they put a bell in the footy so his opponent knows where it is!

Who cares. Six majors is just that. You should be wrapping up anyone willing to play at whatever level to keep the game alive, especially in rural areas. If Roota isn't rorting the budget then get off his case and go back to threads dealing with supplements.

Other than that it's hard to single out a few players to watch - I count 11 new faces in the senior side in today's addy.

Jacques proved to be nothing more then a pest who struggles under any pressure, wouldn't be far from the truth to say that he was ripped a new one by chris belz the oldest backman in the league in Saturdays encounter with newbridge. After being convincingly towelled up for the majority of the day he landed a huge haymaker on the newbridge full forward luckily for jacques the 6"6' man mountain was on his back unable to fight back or we may have all being attending a funeral this week. This was still the only contribution to the game he had all day but may have still been enough to land him in the best of a still below par inglewood side.
A quick update on the co-coach josh Hutchinson aka "the paddle pop lion". Also involved in the tussle on the wing, was seen landing a couple of great hits from the bong. Showed a lot of character all day giving little inspirational speeches eg. "lets go boys" just inspiring stuff that considering it comes from a man with the personality of a spoon. Just hope his 92 year old body can hold out on him as it would be a shame for him to miss inglewoods revival of jumping from last to second last.
