Last week I saw glimpses in Lyons of the ability that the SANFL watchers have been tossing up at us week after week.

This week we got a good look at it. Some of those centre clearances were absolute A grade and reeked of a bit of class.

I'm a convert to the Lyons fan club. He's going to be good.

Love his work in close and the quick handball from the clearance is something we have lacked. Just needs to clean up his kicking.

What I like to look at with a young fella is if they have the basic tools to work on. My view on Lyons is that he does. His basic skills, reflexes and decision making are fairly good. So once he does settle or adjust to AFL (and continues to mature), I believe that extra poise that comes from that will translate fairly quickly and he sould have no trouble cleaning up his kicking.

Now a K Tippett, well....

No question the kid has an AFL game. I actually thought his game yesterday was a bit down on previous weeks, but certainly not poor.

Assuming he survives Crouch's return, there aren't any other names at SANFL level bashing the door down, so hopefully he gets an extended run!

I think he has just taken Matty Wright's spot. He was fantastic yesterday, just lacked a bit of poise which is normal for a young kid. He gets into the right spots, showed a bit of toe which was supposedly his weakness and I love it when he got crunched and got straight up.

His kicking might improve with a bit more exposure to the AFL game. WHen he gets more confidence that he can play at the level he wont feel as rushed and will dispose a lot better.

Sounds good hey ;)
