Traded Mabior Chol [Traded with #62 to Hawthorn for F2 (Bris)]

According to the Herald Sun, the Hawks have been “optimistically” asking the Tigers for a pick inside the first 25 for Koschitzke

So a guy that the hawks are throwing away because he has achieved nothing is worth pick 25, but the Mabior is worth a pick in the 40’s. delusional

Hawks came out pretty quickly after that poor piece of journalism and stated that was pretty far off the mark.
Yes, we cleared that up and confirmed we were actually asking for a pick inside the first 15, not 25, as reported. Talk about trying to undersell his value!

Oh dear, Morris and others (Gettable) insist that Hawks originally did ask for pick 25 for Koschitzke, and still want pick 29.

Common Hawks, get it done :)

I don't understand that sentence.
Sorry, let me try again. Morris and guys on Gettable insist that Hawks asked originally for pick 25 for Koschitzke. They also believe that Hawks still want pick 29 now (they lowered their demand from 25 to 29). I hope I cleared that up. I hope it's just BS from journos.

Sounds like utter BS but I have no special knowledge. Clubs do weird things.

Sounds like BS but GC are asking for a F2nd as well aren't they?

My view is they both value at an early 3rd which is about the same as the Chols FA compo a few years back.

Don't think Chols value has gone up and hawks contact offer is around the same as that one, Tigers offer to Kosi is reported as 3 years as well and he is a few years younger on top of that.

We should be asking for pick 4 for Chol

Interesting to see if MM holds strong here.. He's not worth Hawks F2 (likely pick in the early 20s).. F3 + 44 for Chol should be our final offer and if it doesn't get done so be it he stays at the suns given he's contracted.. although i suspect Dimma doesn't want him there

A bloke you got for nothing in terms of picks; only costing salary cap. Now GC has a need to shed salary cap but wants a high pick in return; rather than have a bloke on a high salary playing VFL.

I think GC needs to start acting responsibly or if they can't do that at least behave consistently; in the trade period last year GC gave up pick 7 to Geelong to free up salary cap.

Might be hawks f2 for Chol and one or more of our late picks

Wouldn't have bloody thought so considering that's likely to be a pick in the 20-26 range.
Trading future picks with us guarantees a flag for an expected bottom 6 side, just ask the Eagles

Another gem from the Weller trade

Not fussed if we walk away from this trade and leave Chol with the Hardwicks.

I can't imagine many hawthorn supporters would disagree with you.
I would say no chance the club walks away contrary to Hawks fans. You don't offer 2M, 4 years + 1 and walk away. Hawks would be an injury to Lewis in a forward line disaster zone. DGB is not an answer both back and forward.

You do when the Suns are being crazy with their demands.

Time for the rest of the AFL clubs to pressure the AFL on all the Suns free hits in the draft!

Haha. I think Hawks asking for 25 and now 29 for Koschitzke is crazy. Don't worry, Suns will give you something back :)

Personally, I don't think it will happen but you never know. Hawks look desperate.

With the suns getting 4 top talents for free no bloody wonder!

You keep Chol and we will take Walters with pick 4 ( which I feel would of happened with out the suns gifts from the afl)

Watch for the other clubs lobby the AFL about the Sun. 😂✌️

If you guys can’t at least make the 8 with Hardwick and your list you may as well fold.

What you need to understand is that there is a big difference between a proper football club and an AFL franchise. Hawthorn doesn't get gifted players via a zone set-up separately to the national draft; nor are they gifted multiple high picks in the national draft for being average; and nor do they get subsidised in AFL distributions in excess of $28 million.

When Hawthorn entered the VFL they did not win at Victoria Park for 35 years, and even then they only won that game by one point. Imagine the arguments a franchise like GC would be putting forward for special assistance if they were in a similar situation - that's right it has already happened.

Hawthorn has always done it the 'hard way' with no special help, so if that's what you mean by saying desperate perhaps your right because you can be sure the AFL will not be offering the special help offered to GC.

May have been a trade of Kosi and 33 to 29 with an extra pick added somewhere

2m over 4 is barely the average wage under the new cba. It isn't the selling point you are making it to be.

Our tall forward options are limited, but we aren't in a flag window yet. Overpaying in picks for an average player is moronic. Hopefully the club are clear that F2 won't have anything to do with this trade.

If we were ready to win a flag I would feel differently.
